Draft. Cloudy burnt orange, like mulled cider, with thin head of grayish bubbles. Complex aroma. Barnyard funk provides a backdrop for sweet cherry, peach, sour apricot, orange peel and caramel. Displays rich aged character I’ve only previously found in Cantillon products. Not as tart as expected. Definitely some fruit juice in here -- the sweet/sour balance is right on. Sweet apricot and peach up front, a little sour lemon, some vinegar (leaning balsamic), and the swallow delivers sweeter cherry and caramel malt. A little weak at the finish. Allow it to sit on the tongue for a while and the apricot really comes forward. Viscous medium body, mild carbonation like pepper. Alcohol is unnoticeable. Good but not mind-blowing. The sour yeast need more time to take hold, methinks. I’d give it a year or two.

>> Rating #9100. Thank you Chris for this treat! Clear deep orange amber pour, fizzy yellow foam. Nose is mild soap, tamarind, saltwater..moves to sour cherry, dried pineapple. Not really peach or nectarine. Taste is bubbly, lightly spicy, medium lemon lime, fruit leather. Flavor is pretty impressive for this series, no acetic, big dried apricot fruit leather. Browned butter, spicy oak take over as it warms. Softer and complex, not really a one-note peach sour like I expected. Almost mixed drink/cocktail fruit blend.

Bottle split at the 5/7.5/10K tasting, from an IP trade in Londres, 30/12/14. Hazed rich amber/orange with a decent light beige covering. Nose is apricot, bitter orange, musty tones, damp wood, hay, funk, spice, tarte mandarin. Taste comprises soured apricot, touch of vanilla, funk, farmy, musty wood, bitter citric peel, light acidic wash, soiled pineapple chunks, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light puckerings and a peppering of brett. Solid sour.

Poured from bottle to glass. Amber hue with fizzy off white head that dissipated to a thin ring. Aroma is tart cherry, oak, lactic, acetic. Mouthfeel is great with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry sweet with a tart following. Overall this is a great brew.

5 Kay, 7.5 Kay, 10 Kay Tasting. Big thanks to Rocket Rudkin for this whale. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Nice nose of tart nectarines and peaches. Palate is light and crisp and dry. Taste follows the nose adding sourish white wine. Peaches turn to tinned peaches before a light crisp finish that also produces a trace of sherbet. Nicely winey - fruity!

Scopey (8471) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2014
Bottle thanks to 10K Bois. It pours cloudy amber with a beige head. The nose is juicy, earthy, funk, must, peach, apricot, nectarine, sherbet, brett and wood. The taste is crisp, big upfront tartness, sherbet, peach, nectarine, decent hit of acidity, toasty, wood, earthy brett and some lactic action with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty delicious and quaffable.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Mr. 10k. Gusher! Pours hazy, deep gold with some sediment and a frothy, off-white head. The nose holds rich tart citrus fruits, lemon, some wood, berries. Light to medium sweet flavor with jammy citrus, strong acidity, woody dryness, light grass, lemon rind. Medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Juicy citrus finish, somewhat acetic, more lemon and tangerine. Nice beer.

Catching up on older ratings from notes. Bottle share at Upsons house on November 9, 2014. Pours a very hazy brown-amber hue with minimal white head. AROMA of funky tart fruit (though not necessarily peaches/nectarines), oaky white wine, FLAVOR is tart and funky (but not puckeringly so), nice bretty tang, underripe fruits (peach and apricot), raspberry jam, and wet oak. Somehow comes off as being very rich with a nice sour tang. Really lovely stuff and this local was the winner of the evening, beating out even the Hill Farmstead stuff at the bottle share. (65, 935)

Bottle at FOBAB 2014, numbers are right, descriptions are difficult to read. Poured hazy orange with light head. Balanced sour taste. Nice for a sour.
