Bottle. Pours black with a substantial, fine head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, a bit of toast. Taste is smooth and sweet up front, light carbonation, medium-full body with chocolate milk and slight coffee notes in the finish. Smooooooooth. Really, really good.

Points for being so creamy and velvety. Nice mouthfeel for sure. Subtle chocolate and coffee notes, but it was a bit chalky. Hmm...need another to form a solid opinion.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours one finger of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is rich roasted malt with lemon and some burnt malt too.
The taste is burnt wood, roasted malt, molasses, coffee and dark chocolate. Wonderful.
The texture is smooth with low to moderate carbonation.
An excellent stout.

The flavour was malt, chocolate with a hint of coffee...it just seemed a little light on the finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 mL bomber. Pours almost opaque and black, thick foamy head of beige. Dark roast coffee, bittersweet chocolate, red fruits and a touch of mint. Mildly sweet, with a nicely bitter roasty/hoppy finale. Creamy full texture with moderate carbonation. Very good, a fine sweet stout, which we donít see enough of in Canada.

650ml bottle from the lcbo. Light roast, sweet milk chocolate, and hint of coffee. A tad watery, soft carb. The finish is low on the bitter scale, some solid sweet cocoa flavors, and a touch of roast in the end.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aromas of red fruits, leather, from a dark brow, almost black beer with very feeble head. Flavours of chocolates, nice bitterness and all, chalky texture. Nice, but well...

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours completely opaque black, with a tan head, which settles to a thin cap and laces. Notes of vanilla, licorice, plums, coffee (breakfast blend not espresso) and milk chocolate. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, lovely roasted malty flavours, together with some dark fruits. A long bittersweet finish and just a hint of boozy warmth. My new favourite stout, especially at this price point!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Roasted malt, chocolate note, sweetness, sweet biscuits on the nose. Dark black with a rapidly dissipating white/brown head. Quite sweet, upfront get some roasted malt, toffee and has a short leafy hop finish with a lingering sweetness. Not bad. Thin bodied/average carbonation. Nothing to really blow my mind with this one, but it does have a lot of flavor for the ABV.
