Commercial Description:
Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

Pretty tasty beer. First stout I’ve had in a while. fairly dry, lively palate. Black body, nice, lasting tan head. Aroma is sweet, dark chocolate, and bready. Flavor is sweet, but with considerable coffee bitterness. There is also some unidentifiable fruit to the flavor. I want to peg it on "plum" or some sort of dark pit fruit. Maybe dates or figs. Anyway, it’s a nice beer, with the full-bodied mouthfeel of a smokey red wine.

Always a favorite. Dark, a rich. Roasted malts give way to a silky hoppy bitterness that rounds out the malty sweetness. Alwasys a standard. I would honestly say that this beer frequently pees all over many imperials I have tried.

Pours a watery black with a tan head that fizzles out a little too quikly for a stout. Nose is roasted barley with a few bold notes of coffee and hops. Flavor is like stout "lite". An easy drink, fairly decent.

Smokey, rich, full bodied with heavy chocolate and coffee taste and aroma. Deep brown/black color with beige head. I had it from a bomber and would like to taste it from a tap.

2005 bottle. So creamy and smooth, goes down easy. Roasty chocolate, a little sweet, somewhat of a grainy dry finish. Picked up in Wilmington, NC while vacationing.

I’m immediately struck by the deep black color! Multi-sized brown head which quickly disperses. Lacing is good throughout the draw. Despite the good appearence, I was disappointed by the palate. Yes, there is a low hop and smooth malt flavor with a hint of chocolate, but the palate is dominated by carbonation first and foremost followed a distant second by the flavor. Very weak bodied. Too weak to be drinkable. Bitter hops dominate the aftertaste. What a disappointment!

This is a big in your face stout, perfectly balanced and crafted to be rich roasty and creamy. Chocolate, rich espresso and just a bit of cocoa. Just enough sweetness to be enjoyable.

bottle. pours a deep black body with a large frothy mocha head. the aroma mainly consists of bitter chocolate and dry assertive coffee roast. the balance is very well done - full marriage of rich billowing chocolate and dry bitter coffee, which is especially evident in the finish. very smooth and creamy. very tasty.
