Commercial Description:
Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

[2043-20090320] 12floz bottle. Mild roasty grains aroma. Hazy, dark brown body with a quick creamy light tan head. Coffee flavour has lots of coffee roast malt. Full body. Good!

Bottle. Opaque black pour with beige foamy head. Aroma of chocolate, light smokiness, and slight coffee. Sweet malts in the aroma as well. Flavor of nicotine, smoke, coffee. Somewhat of a disparity between the aroma and the flavor. Almost a porter flavor. Weak mouthfeel for a stout.

22oz bomber. Wow, what a surprising percentage for this brew. Pours a nice glossy near black with a small fine tan froth. Aroma is light, lightly fruity and grassy, touch of chocolate and roast. Flavor follows, fruity like a baltic porter, lightly grassy, milky, faint chocolate and dull dry roast. Quick finish. Medium/full bodied, smooth and creamy but not exceptionally full, a bit oily.

Pours very dark with some opacity. Small head, not fluffy at all. Smells of roasted coffee, but cheap coffee, the kind your grandfather used to make in his boot during the war. Tastes ok. Sweet, very heavy on the roasted coffee, malt, and some bitter chocolate. Sweet notes on the backend. Lots going on, but not much of it is good. Mouthfeel is thin but tacky.

Pours a deep brown that appears black with almost no head. Aroma of molasses, malt and a slight hint of coffee and chocolate. Initial taste is bitter like a very dark chocolate. Has a creamy texture with a dry slightly sweet finish. Very tasty.

Large Bottle. Pours a very dark brown to black, very thin head which does not stick around very long. There are some coffee flavors, and a lot of deep malts. The pallate is a little thin for a stout, but the depth of flavor more than makes up for that with the coffee, malts, some dark chocoloate and some spices that I can’t determine. Overall it’s a very smooth beer with impressive depth of flavor.

black cola color and a small light khaki color head. coffee aroma with chocolate. great undertones of dark fruits and floral. light creamy velvet body. flavor is of coffee and bitter chocolate with some spice. There is a great hoppy undertone of oranges and flowers. This was definitely one of the best stouts i’ve had. It is not overly sweet or bitter, and there use of hops really adds a great layer of complexity
