Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

This is a delicious beer. Textbook stout, with a nice roasted malt sweetness. A little less smokiness in the bitterness, but I like that. A thick consistency. My only quibble is how can a beer that’s less than 6% abv really be called a stout instead of a porter?

Fles bij melgers vandaan. Zwart met een crème kraag. Smaak en geur redelijk aan de droge kant met as en een trekkende afdronk. Veel CO2 alsof het bier iets te ver is doorvergist.

May 5th, 2014 - Lost Coast provides us with our staple drinking for television this night, an opal black beer which, in our make shift wine glass, does indeed look like the dark side of an eight ball, a dull sheen coming from the ceiling light. The aroma features charcoal and raisins, though given the cold temperature, I don’t get much more than these two dimensions in the olfactory. The carbonation is notably heavy and fuzzy - good for clearing out food and grease - but the palate is surprisingly light. More charcoal and raisin here too, and not much else, but that’s okay. For chilling with friends on a ragged couch years past its retirement date, this does the trick.

12 oz. bottle. Deep brown color with the thin lasting head, light legs of lacing down the glass. Aroma is deep roasted espresso beans, charred barley, cocoa nibs.

Flavor has bold espresso grounds, base of full roasted malts with plenty of milk chocolate. Very mild sweetness in the finish. The flavor is very nice. My only complaint is the thinner body. Not as full as I was hoping after the aroma and initial sip. Overall still damn enjoyable.

Quite effervescent which surprises - like it don’t love it - a bit watery so flavour kinda diluted too - creamy but wanted it more so - expected more somehow.
