4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The first time I had this beer was my freshman year of college, when my old and wiser roommate told me, in a Jesus-like manner, to put down my PBR and follow him. Just like with Jesus’ disciples, it took a while for me to clearly understand this holy message, but I eventually got it. This beer was tasty then, and it has only become better with age.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black, with a smallish but thick mocha head.
Aromas of roasted malts and dark chocolate nibs fill the nose. Definitely some coffee breaking through too.
Palate is thick and creamy. Tastes are dark chocolate, coffee, malts.
Overall this is a very solid stout, right up there with the best I’ve had. Very drinkable and I would gladly consume more of this.

"this was my first ever chocolate stout back in 2001(?). pours jet black, sweet malt and chocolate up front, nice body, if a little on the thin side. smooth, with a slightly surprising, slightly bitter finish. solid beer, great as a float."

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark brown with a thin, tan, ring, disappearing, slightly lacy head. Nice smells of roast wih caramel, raisins and lots of deep chocolaty malt. Soft bitter roasty a nice sweetness and a dry roasty centre and finishes with sweet malt, chocolate and a lingering dark fruity raisin bitterness.

Black as treacle with a creamy and classic head, with lots of roasted coffee and bitter chocolate on the nose. Then more coffee and chocolate with a little nuttiness and a rich caramel malt finish. Damn tasty
