COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

This is a smooth, great tasting stout beer. Great body, Awesome initial flavor..with a perfect finish and just enough carbonation. Seriously one of the best stouts I’ve had in a long time.

One of the very best of the West Coast stouts. Incomparable! (This website attempted to force me to use more words to describe this beer, but why bother? Every other review describes it.)

This is a bold stout with a rich creamy head. What a mouth full. This would be good over ice cream. Well balanced. Not too dry or too sweet. Perfect for a cold rainy nght in front of the fire place.

I’ve never tasted anything quite like this. As near perfect as anyting I’ve tasted. Strong coffee malts, creamy-smooth perfection.

My favorite stout of all time. A reliable beer that never disappoints. Pours dark black with a thin head that is typical of a stout. Robust aroma of coffee, vanilla, toffee, and roasted malts. The taste is what does it for me though. It is just so smooth and almost sweet with a complex flavor for an oatmeal stout. Brown sugar, vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. A great stout and my all time most purchased beer.

Always a favorite. Dark, a rich. Roasted malts give way to a silky hoppy bitterness that rounds out the malty sweetness. Alwasys a standard. I would honestly say that this beer frequently pees all over many imperials I have tried.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2004 First of all, this beer pours out of the bottle black black black...and thick. Nice light brown head...medium carbonation. At first, the aroma is filled with some wonderful smokey roasted tones. As it warmed, the aroma lost most of it's smokiness and took on more of a sweet chocolate character. The flavor changed much like the aroma did...from smokey and roasted to sweet chocolate. Slight bitterness in the finish, but none elsewhere in the flavor. This is a well-crafted stout with many complexities that unfold throughout the drinking experience. I enjoy taking my time drinking this beer to appreciate all it has to offer.

Very solid stout that isnt too overwhelming on the "burnt" flavor, but rather a smoother finish than most stouts. So far the best pacific coast stout I've had.

Pours midnight brown w/ a medium, semi creamy, spattered froth. Nice lacing. Aromas of sweet malts and dry fruits. Medium full nectar w/ ample residual effers creates a velvety texture. Very nice. The flavors are so well integrated I don’t even know where to begin. Petite soured leather bursts throughout the sip like needles. Well I’d have to say the predominant flavors are dry bakers cocoa and leather in superbly balanced proportions. Other nuances include roasted coffee bean, black cherry, and a sliver of smoked maple. The finsh is bittered better than moderate but perfect. This stout rocks. Highly recommended.
