Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

Really smooth stout from Lost Coast. Pours black with nice light tan head. Aroma is dark coffee and taste is very similar. Strong coffee with warm alcohol undertones. Slight chocolate and bitters but a very good stout. I got it as part of a monthly club and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend this stout

Poured from a bottle. Deep walnut, with tan head. Yikes - aroma is not good - I see where others have commented that the aroma is excellent - maybe a got a bad batch, but basically reminded me of dirty diapers. Taste was a different story though filled with roast, coffee, and chocolate. Appropriately carbonated and had a moderate mouthfeel. Just couldn’t get over the aroma.

Damico (1922) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Pours unclear dark coffee in color with a decent creamy gray cocoa head. The aroma is my favorite part - sweet and creamy, a bit of warm coffee with a lot of caramel swirled in perhaps, and a bit nutty. The flavor definitely brings more of a hop bitterness than expected with a lighter body, not very creamy, and some subtle creamy coffee malt flavors settle on the tongue.

A very nice stout. Pours a thick black with a tan head. Smells great, like chocolate covered bananas and cream. Taste is good as well, though has a slightly weird aftertaste. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a little head that leaves a fair amount of tan lacing. Mild nose of roasted malt. Taste of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. Nice stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A mostly black body with some red highlights. A nice beige head that had nice retention and decent lace. Aroma had a heavy roasted coffee note with some mild sweetness to balance it out. Flavor seemed to have a little more going on. There was some nice bold coffee flavors. A slight hint of chocolate and smoke added to the roasted quality. Some mild citrus hops in the after taste. A very dry finish and nice mouth feel.

Pours dark brown to black with a fairly buoyant toffee-colored head that settles to a ring and leaves some spotty lace. Nose involves plenty of roasted malt, licorice notes, some faint bakers chocolate, a little toast, and touches of herbal hops. Balanced flavor between bitter and sweet, moderate amounts of both. Softer, creamy palate, not too heavy, a touch sticky, with a pleasant toasty drying bitter finish. A nice brew, comes across as a stout for all seasons, as it isn’t too imposing body-wise, producing a nice drinkability. Enjoyable.

Smells chocolately with a faint hint of coffee. Very roasted type smells. Almost no head. Very carbonated mouthfeel. A little less carbonation might make this better. Taste is roasty malts and a little bit of sweetness, maybe from the oatmeal?

GIJOE (136) - Monterey, California, USA - APR 14, 2013
Pours black with brown shades in the few spots where light gets through. Tan head that stays around the edge for a good while. Aroma is dark yeasty malt, dark-roasted coffee, dark bitter chocolate, and a hint of anise. Flavor is sweet coffee and cream up front and chocolatety bitterness back. Thick, creamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very nice brew!
