I really like this stout. It’s not too bitter. It’s not to dry. It has a nice, full, mellow, sweet flavor which is very balanced and has lots of subtleties.

Jul 20, 2008 12 fl oz bottle, thanks to cgarvieuk. Pours dark brown with a semi creamy and tan head. Solid roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Flavour is mild smoked and holds a solid roasted malt base. Light chocolate smoothness too. Light bitterness mixed with a nice roasted malt acidity. Light chocolate malt following. Ends with a light roasted acidity and smooth chocolate along a nice bitterness.

Jul 16, 2008 Pours like Guinness with a thick head of white foam. Much closer to a porter in consistency, and certainly not as creamy as one would expect, but a fine stout that offers the unexpected tatse of dates.

Jul 6, 2008 Black pour, light head. Coffee and slight chocolate, pretty balanced with carbonation. Nothing real extream here, good for someone just adventuring into dark beers or someone who prefers lighter styles.

Jun 28, 2008 Pours black with a pretty sturdy whit-ish head. Aroma is lots of dry roastiness with some condensed milk sweetness. Flavor is very dry, a bit sweet, an rather roasty. There is a touch of sourness, a bit like a malted milk ball, that I don’t particularly care for but is not unpleasant, but this taste seems common in a lot of stouts. Mouthfeel is not thick, but is appropriate for the style. All in all though, I like it. Perhaps not as much as some others on this site, but I like it.
I would recommend this beer; I bought this bottle at 3 Cellars in Franklin, WI.
