3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chinchill (662) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 12, 2013
12 oz bottle dated 5 Feb. 2013 served in a snifter.
A: Deep brown, nearly black in the glass, with a modest, bubbly tan head that has weak retention. Moderate lacing.
S: Pleasing aroma features dark roasted malts and a touch of sweet caramel.
T: Good flavor. Solid but middle-of-the-road, and, therefore, weak on the dimensions of interesting and distinctiveness.
M: Smooth; medium body.
O: Very good but not outstnading acrross the board.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Steverus0 (81) - Shreveport, Louisiana, USA - JUN 5, 2013
Wonderful depth to a nice, round stout. Oatmeal and roasted barley come through clear and have a nice counterpoint in hoppy character.
Think lightly roasted stout with just hints of coffee and chocolate with mild grassy hops.

BOTM club. Pours a thick brownish black with fluffy cream head that laces lightly. Aroma of dark and sweet chocolates with a nice toasted malt back. Taste follows, creamy and smooth on the mouth. Solid beer.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 pharmassist (9) - Ohio, USA - MAY 24, 2013 does not count
Really smooth stout from Lost Coast. Pours black with nice light tan head. Aroma is dark coffee and taste is very similar. Strong coffee with warm alcohol undertones. Slight chocolate and bitters but a very good stout. I got it as part of a monthly club and was pleasantly surprised.
Highly recommend this stout
3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 deaconmike (118) - Roswell, Georgia, USA - MAY 23, 2013
Poured from a bottle. Deep walnut, with tan head. Yikes - aroma is not good - I see where others have commented that the aroma is excellent - maybe a got a bad batch, but basically reminded me of dirty diapers. Taste was a different story though filled with roast, coffee, and chocolate. Appropriately carbonated and had a moderate mouthfeel. Just couldn’t get over the aroma.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Damico (1979) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Pours unclear dark coffee in color with a decent creamy gray cocoa head. The aroma is my favorite part - sweet and creamy, a bit of warm coffee with a lot of caramel swirled in perhaps, and a bit nutty. The flavor definitely brings more of a hop bitterness than expected with a lighter body, not very creamy, and some subtle creamy coffee malt flavors settle on the tongue.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 monk191 (394) - California, USA - MAY 22, 2013
A very nice stout. Pours a thick black with a tan head. Smells great, like chocolate covered bananas and cream. Taste is good as well, though has a slightly weird aftertaste. Had in the bottle.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 crazyvin (1706) - New York, USA - MAY 17, 2013
A mostly black body with some red highlights. A nice beige head that had nice retention and decent lace. Aroma had a heavy roasted coffee note with some mild sweetness to balance it out. Flavor seemed to have a little more going on. There was some nice bold coffee flavors. A slight hint of chocolate and smoke added to the roasted quality. Some mild citrus hops in the after taste. A very dry finish and nice mouth feel.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 574deadzone (570) - North Central, Indiana, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Pours dark brown to black with a fairly buoyant toffee-colored head that settles to a ring and leaves some spotty lace. Nose involves plenty of roasted malt, licorice notes, some faint bakers chocolate, a little toast, and touches of herbal hops. Balanced flavor between bitter and sweet, moderate amounts of both. Softer, creamy palate, not too heavy, a touch sticky, with a pleasant toasty drying bitter finish. A nice brew, comes across as a stout for all seasons, as it isn’t too imposing body-wise, producing a nice drinkability. Enjoyable.
