2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 kathouse (308) - Nevada, USA - JUN 2, 2012
Golden color with red tints. This was served from the tap in a frosted glass so May not reflect the best qualities. Head is big, foamy, and long lasting. Hops are earthy with grassy notes. Flavor is grainy malt with a residual sweetness from a touch of caramel. Finish is short. Well balanced. An easy drinker.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GTAEgeek (523) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 29, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pours dark, hazy orange with a medium, off-white, foamy head. The aroma is caramel, ripe bananas, salt water, and faint coffee. The flavor is bitter, a little sweet, and has a hard mineral note. The palate is medium, astringent, sticky and hard. Overall, this is a fair amber ale, but the flavor and palate are a little unpleasant.

4 ounce sample out of a bottle. The aroma has some light caramel and light roasted maltiness. Lightly metallic, spicy hops are also present. Fairly faint nose. Transparent amber-orange body with a medium off-white head present. Spicy, peppery hops present themselves to start. Becomes a little chewy with some caramel malt sweetness in the middle. Finishes sweet and inoffensive. Joe Bowers Average.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2012
June 2010: Bottle obtained from a Lee’s Discount Warehouse in Las Vegas and driven across the border into Utah for tasting.
Walking all day in Bryce Canyon, I knew I’d want something proper to drink during the evenings and Utah’s 4%ABV laws didn’t seem to cry out to me very much, so that is why I took some decent beers into the state with me, this one included.
Poured a few times into my motel plastic toothbrush tumbler the beer appeared an amber colour (but not catty), on top of each pour sat a tan coloured head.
The smells given off were of sweet molasses reminding me of toffee and malted bicuits.
Strangely the first taste was a hop bitterness, a tangy unexpected hit considering the aroma. Slowly the sweetness from the smell took over and balanced out the original hop hit.
Pleasant without setting the world alight and at 5.5%ABV no problem driving in the morning.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scipio (190) - Vernon Hills, Illinois, USA - APR 16, 2012
Pours a reddish amber with a medium white head. Aroma is sweet and consists of malts and fruit, specifically strawberry and cherry. Sweetness remains in the taste. More fruity than anything. Medium body, and quite smooth. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Very easy to drink. Not something I would go out of the way to find, but a pleasant option when available.

Poured a clear copper color with a tall slightly cream beige head that dropped to about 1/2". The was a nice amount of carbonation bubbles rising up in the glass. There was a nice german lager aroma to the beer along with some roasted malt. The beer hada nice caramel malt sweetness followed by a mild bitterness.
3.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 sloshgator (48) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Nice malt flavor up front, but too much bitterness in the end. Some spicyness comes through. No nose to speak of. Not a bad dinner or session beer.
