3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught @ BTAH VSK, ’05 vintage. Pours a cloudy orange-amber, light, with a pillowy off-white head.Nose is an almost candy caramel malt sweetness, citrus - like a bowl of candied pineapple. Taste is a big, sweet malt body, lots of very rich caramel, underpinning a nice, hoppy citrus hop note throughout. Dry, light bitterness, and just a hint of astringency. Medium body, crisp but light carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 5, 2008 Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Cloudy reddish amber, small creamy head. Grapefruity nose where resin already comes through. Sweet with bold straightforward mouthfeel and solid body. The bitterness strikes hard and early, and reaches punishing levels. Meanwhile there’s notes of mango and cookies. A typical American macho beer with punk attitude.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Blind TIger. Beautiful amber-orange colour with a thick creamy sticky head. Aroma is very much like fresh cereal, sweet cookie dough/biscuity malts with notes of wildflower honey. Aroma is also lightly floral and fruity. Some orange peel, grapefruit and more sweet honey. Very low on cohumulones giving it an extremely soft but lingering bitterness. Quite fruity, but not the usual C-hop combination. There is a fairly berryish sweetness and a light herbal quality as well. Seems barleywinish in the way that the sweet cookie dough malts seem to dominate the hops. An unusual take on the IIPA style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Everything about this beer is just a tad above average. ...And I mean just a hair. Sampled this at the AZ Strong Beer Festival; head disappearing almost immediately above a sunset body. The aroma isn’t overpowering pine, the flavor isn’t aggressive grapefruit/citrus, and nothing sticks to the palate. This "Trouble" is definitely far from "Double".

[910-20071205] Tap @ Redlight Redlight (Orlando, FL). Mainly raspy orange peel hops aroma has some lemon. Hazy, orange brown body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Super grapefruit citrus grass hops flavour has something like a little bit of Johnson & Johnson’s baby shampoo. Medium body is very bitter. Fair hoppy beer.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light hazy pour, deep amber/orange. Light beige head, slow recession, solid pretty sheet lacing. The aroma unleashes, with an air of immediacy, a moderately intense toasted grain base. Hops are medium, not as pungent as hoped for. I ordered this for a big dose of hops, after all. Earthiness, soil, floral notes and soft grapefruit are noted. Alcohol is too prevalent. Mild stale toast and bready malts finish off each inhalation. Astringency is medium-high and overwhelming in the flavor. Malt tastes stale and uninviting. Hoppiness is at a dissapointingly low level. Depth of flavor is very low and incredibly uninspired. Finishes lightly bitter, bready and bland. The mouthfeel is sticky, oily and parching with low-medium carbonation. Unimpressive.
