COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth, full-bodied nut brown ale, lightly hopped with a hint of roasted and crystal malts. This ale is dark in color without the heavy taste of porter or stout.

Decent brown ale. A little on the light side. Definitely doesn’t have the dark taste, as described. I was expecting a little more body but this is a pretty decent beer.

Bottle. Pours a reddish brown with moderate off-white head. Aroma is mild of coffee, cocoa, and dirt. Flavor has roasted malt, some coffee, and cocoa. Slightly chalky and light body. Decent brown that’s more coffee heavy (although "heavy" is relative here) than I’d expect.

Bottle. 12 oz. Grabbed a six pack of this from Anastasia. Pours a medium chestnut brown with a fuzzy off-white head. Aroma of toasted barley, chocolate, malty, doughy bread, and notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, Flavor is quite similar to a stout or porter, as advertised, but with an insanely smooth, almost juicy and ever-so-slightly bitter palate. Surprisingly clean, even-keeled finish. Just enough maltiness on the tongue to leave a pleasant, non-cloying sweetness. Great brown ale, especially for a nice fall session. Cheers.

12 oz bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits (Halifax). Pours a clear, slightly orangeish brown with small off-white head. Aroma is mild, slightly roasty caramel malt with a touch of chocolate. Flavour is slightly roasty and has caramel, chocolate and a little nuttiness. Medium body. Not bad.

[Bottle] Pours a dark brown color with a thin beige head. Caramel malts and molasses in the nose. The taste is very dry and roasty. Charred malts and light brown sugar are the main notes here. Slight astringency. Average to slightly below average mouthfeel. A decent beer, but I enjoyed their Winterbraun much more.
