A dark cola color with a lot of creamy-tan head. Mildly hoppy aroma. Lightly flavored and a bit thin. A little charcoal bitterness and some sweet malt. Nothing special.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet charcoal aroma. Skunky, wet, moldy vegetation. Deep roasted malt notes.
Woodsy coffee flavor reminesent of a porter. Minor licorice notes. Gets nutty in the finish; walnuts and almonds. some fruitiness comes out as it warms.
Palate is uninspiring.

Malty caramel taste that is pleasing. My nose detects toasted nuts. Not a knockout in the flavor department but has pleasent aftertastes that reminds you that you’re drinking an OK brown ale.

Awesome American Brown Ale. Rich and malty with roated, nutty undertones. Finishes slightly hoppy and sweet - a real treat!

22oz bottle, dark brown with a creamy, tan head. Fairly thin on the palate, roasted malts, crisp finish, a hint of caramel. Good session beer, but a bit underwhelming.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2008 A nice American brown. Like a hoppy American stout, with only a touch less malt. Very dark, very low carbonation; nutty.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
bottle. First of all this wasn’t bad for the money. Pours surprisingly dark brown with plenty of carbonation and a dark tan head. Smell of malts, maybe nuttyness, and slightly sweet. Taste of roasted malts, raisins. Taste comes off somewhat flat and one dimensional. Not bad, but not very interesting.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2008 bottle. decently priced at the local grocery store. Deep mohogany pour (darker than most brown ales) with an inch head that diminishes to a nice film. Malt forward nose yields to a great balance of malt, nut, and pleasant hops. Definitely full-bodied but not heavy. Great!
