A smooth, full-bodied nut brown ale, lightly hopped with a hint of roasted and crystal malts. This ale is dark in color without the heavy taste of porter or stout.

A nice little beer -- not very assertive -- smells better than it tastes -- a not too heavy nut brown that hints a nutty, roasted malt but doesn't back it up very much. A good choice, but not the best -- but I'll buy it again.

12oz bottle: Pours dark brown with a very thin head that is a creamy tan in color. The aroma reminded me of caramel and pecan with a Nutty flavor. All in all it was a very good beer.

Not the best I’d hoped for, but still decent. Initially it is hoppy, but then it finishes with a pleasant earthy taste. Despite it not being particularly grand, I did finish two glasses before I knew it.

From Degarth on a trade. <P>Pours a cloudy brown with a quickly disappearing offwhite head. I’m catching light hops in the aroma, with a bit of caramel. Flavor’s pretty plain, little chocolate, little sweet, little hops. Mouthfeel is good though, nicely carbonated and refreshing. Not bad.

Bottle. Poured Brown with little white head, notes of toasted caramel. finishes easy. All the right pieces, but it doesn’t seem to pull them all together into something special.

A lot darker than I expected a brown ale to be, minimal head. Had a coffee finish to it, otherwise roasty. As I like stouts, this was a good thing. It’s good, but I can’t really think of any kind of person to recommend this to.

Tap at the counter, santa monica. Pours brown with a khaki head. The aroma is toast, brown sugar, and a bit of pine. Taste is toasted caramel and hints of cocoa with a nice offsetting pine bitterness, which does not linger very long into the finish. very good for the style.

Sweet, stout flavor. Not too heavy or bad aftertaste. Really good for volume drinking.
