12 oz bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown with no real head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is simple, but a little different than most browns. Nutty, roasty, almost porterlike at times. Kind of weird how the description says "without the heavy taste of porter..." Sweet malts with a toffee background. Not a bad aroma at all. Medium bodied and watery. Not a lot going on with the flavor and pretty unbalanced. Sweet and nutty with a hint of roasty smokiness and finishes slightly bitter. Overall, pretty boring except for the porterlike smell. I guess their description was right in part that it sure doesn’t taste like a porter. Watery and bland.

Pours medium brown with a couple of fingers of head that leaves a little lace. The aroma is malt and a little bit of a hazelnut or roasted peanut thing going on. The flavor is all in the front. There’s a little nutty malt and a little bit of floral hops, and then the finish is like water. This might be a decent lawnmower beer, but it’s not the first one I’d pick up.

A opaque dark-ish brown with a white head. The aromas are subtle and the body is medium. It is well balanced and can be imagined as a mild porter.

A rather negligible scent, but the delectable taste compensates for that. Smooth and creamy texture. Taste consists of roast and caramel followed by a slight bitterness. A fantastic light brown just as the label clearly states. After drinking several, the artwork begins to make sense.

Presentation: 12 oz. brown bottle with no freshness date. Served in a Samuel Adams pint glass. Appearance: Deep, dark caramel color. Develops a thick, two finger, tan colored head that fizzles out into a thin ring. Leaves some nice, patchy lacing. Smell: Very faint, so it’s hard to notice. Smells mainly of caramel and a little bit of malt. Taste: Roasted chocolate and caramel notes are evident. The malt sweetness rounds things out and a hint of hop bitterness provides balance. There’s a slight alcohol feel at the end. Mouthfeel: Light bodied, and easy to drink, feels a little thin, even. This might be surprising to a lot of people who expect a darker beer like this one to be stronger and fuller. It has some nice and crisp carbonation. Overall: This is a very good brown ale, easy to drink and pleasant. It’s simple in taste and smell, so it won’t win any awards for being bold, dramatic and different. But sometimes you just want to drink something nice and easy. This is what this beer provides, and it does a really good job at it.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours transparent brown with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, light chocolate and roasted notes from the malts, and light floral hops. Flavor the same, with the malts blending well like a beer of this style should. Average texture. A pretty good beer for the style.

A nice, simple brown ale. A tad watery. Nutty but doesn’t possess the usual smoothness to match. Drinkable.

Ok. Mild hops aroma with some malt. Pours brown with good lacing. Slightly sour aftertaste with a bit of bitterness. Average carbonation, average consistency. Bottle from Stop and Go.

On tap at Hops in New West. It’s brown as expected. Very nice brown ale, with medium carbonation and a dry finish. Damn good brown ale.

On tap, pretty dark pour with this head. I’m so used to nut brown ale aftertaste that this beer really surprised me. Out has a sweet caramel flavor that I think I secretly wanted in a brown ale. I wish it had a better aroma, it would have recieved a higher total score. One of the better browns I’ve had. Easy to drink.
