Draft. Pours hazy deep coppery with ruby/brown edges. Nose is hot, with malt, spirits, vinous fruit, and hops. Tastes malty, spirity, with heavy vinous fruit, earthy hop notes, and gets a bit hot late.

Draft at Red’s. Poured a cloudy opaque brown color with a thin tan head. Smelled of light brown sugar and dark fruits. Full bodied and slightly sweet with moderate carbonation. Tasted of toffee, sugar plum, date, raisin, black cherry liqueur, earthy hop, and black tea. Good stuff.

Draft @ Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty spicy dark fruit aroma. Sweetish malty dark fruit flavor with hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty dark fruit finish.

Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Cloudy dark copper colour, no head. Minty grapefruit on rich caramal. Black currant and soap, full body with rich butterscotchy malt dried out by salty grapefruoit hops. Clean, rounded mouthfeel and long minty bitterness. Nice Foghorn style barley wine.

Tap at Eureka. Rating #19. Dense dark brown/amber color with very little head. Rich caramelly malty aroma. Subtle flavor, a little boozy and a tad thin, but very clean and enjoyable, nice barley wine. (1891)

Tap at el Bait Shop. Slightly hazy deep rusty brown with a yellowish khaki head. The nose is malty and sweet. Lots of toffe mixed with walnuts. The taste has sweet tea and amaretto. There is also some warming caramel and hints of smoke in the boozy finish. Too sweet, but a decent winter warmer.

Aroma of cherry, dark fruits and a touch of amaretto. Pours dark reddish brown with no head. Tastes like amaretto, grape stems, and a big alcohol burn. A little too intense but tasty nonetheless.

Sampled at 38 Degrees Anniversary. Good solid barley wine. Good balance of malt and hops with a big but not overwhelming hit of alcohol. Pours a dark orange. Aroma is pretty minimal.
