Bright cloudy gold, white head. scent: Natural, no overblown additives....slightly lemony-crisp flavour ,right at the edge of being too sweet, also some honey tones. light, crisp, very flavourful....I really enjoyed this one!
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 portableparty (1008) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Bottle to glass. Pours clear bright gold (plenty of floaties) and a white soapy head that fades to a film. Aroma is lemon grass and bread, grainy. Taste is crisp watery and grainy with a lemon and light malt. Palate is thin and fizzy with a dry finish. Easy drinking.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fatalstrike (129) - Cerritos, California, USA - JAN 5, 2012
I will preface this review by saying that I bought a 6 pack of this beer for $5.99 which is a damn good value for this beer. The nose on this one is slightly underwhelming for a belgian white, there is a hint of coriander, some wheat funk, and faint citrus. Pours a hazy pale gold with a frothy white foam that lasts throughout leaving a nice lacing. Taste-wise the coriander makes more of an appearance, though this is certainly not one of the more flavorful belgian wit beers. Has touches of citrus and a slight spice. Appropriate carbonation keeps this one lively. Fairly full feeling on the palate. Not bad for the price.
3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 zestytaco (34) - Niceville, Florida, USA - DEC 20, 2011
Pours a yellowish orange color with mild head. Aroma is barely there, not enough to comment on. With the first sip the coriander jumps out and takes center stage with barely there citrus flavors in the end. At the first drink I gotta say I didn’t like it. A few more drinks and it’s ok. By the end of the bottle I really liked the brew.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 kerenmk (139) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - DEC 16, 2011
Bottle, BOTM club. Appearance: golden, very sparkling, with a minimal head. Sweet aroma, a hint of honey and rose water. Delicately bitter taste and quite herbal. Almost no aftertaste - quick finish, thin body and lively in the mouth. Light and nice.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Frank (1966) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 13, 2011
This is sort of a ham fisted attempt at the style but a drinkable one at least. It is a headless and hazed yellow beer with a strong waft of coriander and citrus in the nose. I don’t mind a strongly spiced beer but this is edging in on cloying as far as the use of spices. Aside from that though it’s relatively clean and dry which makes for pleasant enough drinking. This comes off more as an American wheat w/ some spices than a truly Belgian-inspired ale.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 KyotoLefty (3480) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 12, 2011
Draught at Tadg’s.
Pale gold. Aroma of wheat, spices, orange. Lots of orange peel. Creamy wheat flavor. A basic wit, but a bit thin. Ok. The least impressive of the day.
