The big brother to our already robust Eightball Stout, is intensely flavored with hints of coffee, chocolate, molasses and licorice

Tasted at the SF beer week opening gala. Labeled as Imperial 8-ball stout. It poured black with a tan head. The aroma definitely brought our the licorice root, cocoa, and molasses. The flavor was the same only less potent with a very roasted, burnt finish. I enjoyed this one.

Arizona strong beer festival. Typical flavor of chocolate and coffee, but far less body than I expected from a stout.

Sampled on tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a thick black with a small ring of tan head. Aroma of molasses, rich roasted malt, licorice and slight coffee - quite robust. Flavour is very rich, with a fine balance of coffee and chocolate, molasses and licorice. Full-bodied, with a silky smooth mouthfeel. More satisfying than the regular 8-Ball. Excellent.

Very low aroma. Some toasted malt aroma. Pours from the tap with a creamy foam. Good carbonation and medium body. Large caramel flavor with some roasted character.

Very dark. Mild roasty, oaty aroma with light fudge notes. A bit of slightly boozy richness. Finishes with fudge, but also tartness and a little alcohol. Good.

Draft @ Alibi Room. Gorgeous lace! Big aroma and flavors with lots of mellow roast, is balanced, never burnt nor sweet. Licorice is light in finish. Regular 8 Ball is just nice, this one is great.

Poured up on tap at the Tampa Pour House with deep mahogany body and mocha like head. The aroma offers up dark roasty malts, a muted sort of vague hoppiness, malt balls and some chocolate. The taste is full of big dark roasted malt, chocolate and chocolate malt ball notes as well as lesser amounts of spicy black licorice and molasses. This tastes of big rich harmonious goodness. Well done.

Lost coast imperial stout at pap. 4/1/11 Clear dark reddish brown black .3/5 A is very floral, nutty, black raisin, coffee, roast and booze. F is the same with choco and vitamin pills, licorice, floral alcohol too Thinnish bodied for the style... Which I like but there are too many not good things with this. 3.0

Received hand bottled from Hayduke. The bottle opened with a burst of pressure, a good sign. This beer pours very dark, almost black with plenty of red. A nice even tan head is one finger and it slowly fades leaving sticky lacing. Roasted notes and chocolate greet the nose that is like a Hershey’s bar in a cup of coffee. The feel is creamy and smooth. The flavor begins with that chocolate and some surprisingly big hops that are bitter, citrus, and very fresh. Molasses and coffee are also tasted. After a few sidetracks the finish meanders its way back to chocolate. This was a very tasty beer and might have the nicest chocolate flavors I have ever tasted. Thanks Ron!
