Purchased at Lee’s Discount Liquor in Las Vegas. Pours orange with a white head. Piney, citrusy, and slightly bitter. Malts are caramel and bread. Very good beer and one I’d purchase regularly if it was available locally.

Everything you’d expect of an American IPA. Piney west coast hops, certainly of the C variety, pungent, resiny, candy-like and fragrant. The body is wonderfully balanced, comfortably higher abv without much residual sweetness, but this begs to be a bigger beer in my opinion. Not much going on by way of malts, just some crystal, giving the beer a sunset red tint. A spot-on example of the style for the uninitiated but it’s only personality, like so many American IPAs, lies in the label.

Nice beer. An IPA without the horrible bite. Nice smooth, for an ipa. Nice head. Enjoyable. Would get it again. Good novice IPA. Not a good beginner IPA.

Holy cow. Incredible beer. I had never tried anything from Lost Coast. Picked up a six pack at a liquor store in Calgary. Incredible beer. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, fruit and hints of spices. Taste is hops and nice citrus bitterness to finish. Golden orange pour with a medium sized head and decent lacing. Taste sticks to the palate and reminds you of how good the beer is. Mmmmmmm.......

On tap at the brewpub. The look is golden in color, clear, and has an ok head. The smell is hoppy, caramel, pine, and citrus. The taste is hops, decent bitterness, caramel, and pine.

Pours dark gold with a thin white head. Smells of pine, tea, lemon and fresh cedar. Tastes of english breakfast tea, hops and pine. Very good, nice lacing.

A murkier appearance than I’m used to, but I kind of like how this one looks in the glass, dark and opaque orange. I opened the 22oz bottle, and a little column of foam popped out of the mouth of the bottle and sat there. This one has some really interesting character to it. Kind of fruity, kind of piny. Almost uncharacteristic of the IPA style in its fruity and malty characters, but it’s a nice little detour.

12oz bottle. Always hard to rate fairly when preceded by an arguably better beer. Lovely amber golden colour with medium carbonation. The head is voluminous and like whipped cream. The nose is all hops with little malt evident. The flavor is really lovely, crisp and biting hops that are neither floral nor citric. Perhaps somewhat piney. The malts are subtle but well integrated. Hell, it’s a very well made IPA and certainly worthy of its high ratings. I just had one that was rated lower that I liked more...too each their own I guess.
