COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This highly hopped California style Pale Ale showcases the brewer's art of balancing malt and hop characteristics. A generous addition of Munich malts balances the bittering from Chinook hops, and Cascade hops round out the flavor profile.

Pours dark straw with medium off-white head. Aroma of floral hops, fruit. Tastes very hoppy, with a firm malt backbone, and some fruit. Decent balance and good complexity. Finishes more like an IPA than an APA.

Lovely orange-amber pour. The nose is bright and hoppy with a touch of orange. Soft bitterness and a little bit of light pine. Light pale malt. Good balance and a pretty nice APA

Pint at brewery. Light hoppy aroma and beautiful copper color. The palate was rough and the taste was not great. I will not order this beer again.

Good beer. Sweet malts to start with and finishes like it’s aroma of citrus hops.

Sample at the brewpub on 8/5/10. Clear yellow/gold pour with a fluffy white head. Nice hoppy aroma with some spiciness, grass and a bit of citrus. Spicy hop flavor with a bit of malt and a chalky cascade finish.

Pours a nice orangish color. Aroma is floral hops, some caramel, and a hint of vegtables. Flavor of a classic pale, nice hop flavor.

Poured from a bomber purchased @BevMo in SF. The price was marked down, so they wanted to move this product. Pours nicely with good color and head as mentioned by other reviewers. A decent example of the style, but not in the top half of my list. I visited the Lost Coast pub in Eureka several years ago and I look forward to trying this and other brews at the source in the near future. Nice Humbolt artwork on the label.

Thanks Hayduke! This beer pours a hazy golden hue with an uneven fluffy white head that has excellent retention. There isn’t a big aroma but it is grainy. Hops lead the flavor with grapefruit along with honey and sweeter passion fruit. Honey and pepper can be tasted. As the beer warms the hops are more pronounced in the aroma enhancing their impact on the flavor. Grass is also in the finish. A nice and well balanced beer.

Tap @ Lost Coast. Pours golden, almost lager looking. Light aroma of lemony malts and light citrus. Flavor is fairly malty all the way through the thinner body, Chinook creeps through a bit before ending if somewhat of a watery finish. Not the best, but not a pour out.

Bomber poured a clear golden amber with a lasting off white head. Aromas of biscuit, citrus and earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of biscuit earthiness and light citrus with a crisp lightly bitter finish.
