4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Oscbert (746) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 16, 2012
~Light chocolate malt and caramel with tart raspberry.
~Pours a beautiful garnet with small lasting creamy brownish head.
~Subtle hint of chocolate and caramel in flavor with lots of refreshing tart raspberry..
~Med body, med CO2, refreshing, abrupt sweet finish.
~Not what I was expecting. I was expecting something sweet and syrupy. This has great balance and is very refreshing. This is one I could enjoy on a cold winter night or a hot summer day.

650mL bomber poured a nice brown color with about 2 fingers of beige head and some nice lacing. Mild aroma of raspberries and some roasted malts and a hint of chocolate. Taste is roasted malty sweetness, tart raspberries and a hint of hop bitterness in the finish. Nicely balanced and not too fruity. A nice tasting experience.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a dense, foamy tan head. Strong raspberry aroma with soft caramel, berry jam and chocolate. Taste is chocolate covered raspberries, burnt caramel, sweet malt, candy, berry jam and toasted dark bread. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation. Some dryness as well. Ends with more chocolate, caramel, raspberries, berry candy and roasty malt.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bnoel09 (218) - Elk Grove, California, USA - AUG 14, 2011
Poured into a Lost Coast pint glass. Color is dark brown and slightly translucent. Aroma is very malty with some caramel and chocolate. Raspberry is mild in the aroma. Flavor is malty and the raspberry flavor is apparent from start to finish. The fruitiness isn’t overly sweet, but it is fairly strong. Palate is medium bodied. Overall I would prefer a brown that happens to have some raspberry, while this feels like a raspberry beer that happens to be brown...
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Syzzer (215) - Oregon, USA - AUG 9, 2011
Such a disappointment for a brown. It is thin and has weak mouthfeel. The raspberry is undetectable other than an unpleasant bitterness
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Elwood (1834) - Between a rock and a hard place, Virginia, USA - JUL 8, 2011
Serving: 22 oz. bottle from Giant. It pours a lighter amber brown with a thin, off white head. The nose is dirty socks and raspberry. Yup, that’s it, dead on. The flavor starts off with artificial raspberries and ventures into a thin, nutty brown before quickly shifting to a slightly dry nothingness. Thin on flavor and what is there is somewhat offensive. Light in body with average carbonation leading to a slightly dry tasteless finish. Definitely not worth a go.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bubbleflubber (1203) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - MAY 27, 2011
Pours a deep cherry-mahogany hue with a coating sudsy head that diminishes, leaving light soapy lace. The nose is of raspberries, hazelnut and tangerines. Flavors of peach seltzer, effervescent hazelnut and cocoa. The finish is of light nut skins. The palate is a bit thin and seltzer-like, with a light body and some fruit complexities. Not a bad fruit beer, actually. Drinkable, and enjoyed fine in the hot summer.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 troyc (2014) - Oklahoma, USA - APR 19, 2011
[Bottle] Pours a chestnet brown color with a large beige colored head to it. Fruity aroma of genuine raspberry and peach. Dried cocoa powder, chalky chocolate and hazelnut are also quite prominant in the nose. The taste is fresh raspberry puree, caramel, light brown sugar, nut, cocoa and amaretto. I have to say the nose is more robust than the flavor. Not a bad palate, however, for the style. Sweet fruits in the finish. This was actually a pretty tasty beer.
