3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not a bad fruit beer- poured a very deep, clear red-brown with a thin light tan head. Raspberry syrup aroma with some toasty malt. The flavor reminded me of Brach’s chocolate-covered raspberry nougats, with plenty of raspberry flavor (which was pleasant) not quite balanced by toasty, chocolatey malts. Not bad, but where’s the beer?

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This bottled brew marked best before may of 2003 poured a medium large sized head of fine to medium sized light brown colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was an opaque dark brown color with no visible carbonation. The aroma was malty with a good raspberry scent to it that made me sneeze! Achoo! The mouth feel was smooth with a raspberry brown ale finish. The flavor contained notes of raspberries and brown malts. Strange but true. I thought the appearance and the aroma were its best qualities.

Pours with a thin light tan head. Dark, dark brown color to it. Deep raspbeery flavor, with brown sugar, and pretty malty.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark brown with a good sized tan head. This stuff tastes like a chocolate covered raspberry. Goes down smooth but fills you up fast. I was surprised of how good this was.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Beverages and More, Mission Valley, San Diego. Very dark colour, only held up to the light can I see some brown. Very, very nice raspberry aroma. Delicious beer. Tastes like a raspberry and chocolate pie: a superb combination. Fresh and light, but a vivid flavour and a sweet aftertaste. Top notch.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep brown with huge tan head. Robust berry aroma ... nicely rounded-out lightly bittered beer with the raspberry topping. Well done in the style that I usually don't dig too much.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fresh picked raspberries dominiated the aroma, but a brief whiff of malts made an apperance. Clear brown in color with a firm off white lasting head that left excellent lacing. I was waiting for a hit of the raspberries, but it never really came. More like a nudge. I could taste them, but just a little bit. They were present through out the taste, but never dominated. Malts and bitterness were present to compliment the berries. I was a bit dissapointed, but it was still good.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rich brown pour with generous tan head. Obvious rasberry aroma along with fizzy mouthfeel. Tastes of rasberry & malty cocoa. Kind of thin without full richness. Overcarbonated.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown (almost black) appearance with a red hue. Thick tan head. Aroma smells of fresh red raspberries. This is a nice natural smelling aroma. Most fruit beers I've tasted smell artifical. Flavor is strangely balanced between a fruit beer and a brown ale. As a result, it tastes like neither. Its got the tart raspberries, but at the same time the sweet carmel malt... weird. Much much lighter than I expected. Pretty ridiculous lacing on this mofo. Not a bad beer though.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Color of coca cola, this beer also gives great head. Thick and frothy like a root beer. Aroma was raspberry and hops....lots of raspberry. I was expecting a sweeter flavor that what I got. Didnt get as much fruit either. I guess that mouth is what detects the brown ale genes of this beer. Chocolate and caramel with notes of fruit, med-full bodied somewhat bitter finish. Very interesting.....not bad.
