Pours a ruby brown with a tan head and aroma of chocolate and raspberries. Taste is sweet, of heavy raspberry, chocolate, light roasted malt with a tart, fruity finish.

Pours a brown color with a small head. Nose is fruity and sweet. Taste is raspberry and chocolate. Very light, making it easy to drink. Finish is sweet, and ends with the same flavored notes of raspberry and chocolate. Typical fruit beer. Quaff Score 6 / 10

22oz bottle pours dark hazy brown with a fizzy head. Big raspberry aroma. Raspberry taste up front with roasted malt finish.

On tap at Hops in New Westminster. Well carbonated, a very dark ruby in color, and the raspberry flavour is very prominent. Too prominent in fact. It may be natural flavouring, but the beverage frankly strikes me as a shandy of beer and raspberry soda. Meh.

Poured from a 650mL bottle. Dark brown in colour with nice beige head. Predominant raspberry aroma, mild roasted malts. Taste of roasted malts and some chocolate with mild raspberry flavour to kick things off, very slight hops at the end. Medium body, smooth.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2013 From the starting point of this being a brown ale I’d say it’s a terrible beer. If I take it in as a fruit beer I can appreciate it a little more. The appearance is the only reason to call this a brown. The aromas and flavors are overly malty and dominated by the raspberry. I’d serve this to somebody who said they didn’t like beer or wanted a desert beer.

Appearance: dark ruby brown with a short creamy head. Aroma: smelled almost like a tootsie roll at first, with a surprising amount of chocolate; as it warmed, the tart raspberry notes really came out. Taste: raspberry flavors were a wave up front, with a little less tartness than you’d expect; the sweetness comes not from any lambic-ness, but from the toasty caramel and chocolate malts. Finish: really smooth and light, with slowly fading notes of raspberries and chocolate. Notes: Not bad. The palate was a little on the light side, and it seemed like, while well-intentioned, it was just missing a little something. For me, I would have liked a little more tartness or sharpness in the flavor. Still, glad I tried it.

Aromas of raspberry and charred malts. Medium bodied, fairly thin, a little too much carbonation. Lots of raspberry flavour. I would like this more if the raspberry was a bit more subtle.

Clear dark amber pour with reddish tinge and a small off white head. Heavy aroma of raspberry, faint malt and caramel. Faint hint of raspberry on the taste, slight caramel and lightly malty. Thin mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. A litlle dissapointed on this one.
