Sample at Burger Bar in Las Vegas. This brew is a cloudy dark golden color with a thin and fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Filmy rings of lacing on the glass. Sweet tangerine and spices in the nose. Light body with tangerine and orange rind flavors, plus some light spices. The finish is fruity with a short malt aftertaste. An average novelty-type fruit beer overall.

Lost Coast Tangerine is a hazy and sparkling ale that lingers between light amber and deep gold, with a hue leaning toward peach. It has a small white head that fades to a film and stays put to leave nice lacing on the glass. It has a bright tangerine aroma, with a note of lemongrass. It is medium bodied, quite bubbly and extremely smooth. The finish is clean. Tangerine is quite prominent in the taste. It is moderately bitter and well balanced. It is a nice, sound, refreshing and satisfying wheat ale serving as a backdrop for tangerine. There is a clean, short, tangerine peel finish. What a great idea. Rather than just trying to emulate citrus with hops, they just went for it.

I’m not going to go into the gory details. This is good refreshing tangerine pilsner. The tangerine is light and bitter.

Clearish golden orange coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of fresh tangerines, clementines and a bunch of fake (think equal) sugar. Medium-bodied; Strong malt/wheat flavour with massive amount of metal, fake sugar and potent fake fruity flavours. Aftertaste still bitter from the fakeness all around - not too much pleasant here. Overall, if you’ve had an artifical orange extract/essence in cooking, then had this beer - you’d hardly notice a difference...the fakeness is unreal. Not really worth trying, but I suppose if it’s rare - try it, just don’t expect much! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Lee’s Discount Liquors in Las Vegas, Nevada on 07-February-2009, sampled at home in Washington.

Pours a lighter amber color with a white head. Aroma is pretty much all citrus and tangerine and maybe just a hint of wheat. Flavor is the same with the overpowering tangerine flavor. This would be a decent summer beer.

Orange color with a slight haze and almost no head. Aroma was hold on to your hats...tangerine. Flavor was tangerine/citrus. Light bodied and crisp, I would love to try this again by the pool this summer.

Had on tap at Tu Tu Tangos. Very hazy pour of pale orange. Aroma was alllll citrus. Flavor was sweet malty grasses with a hint of citrus. I am not a fan of fruit beers, but this one was actually very drinkable. Of all the fruits, I think citrus goes well in beer.

65cl bottle from Liquor Depot (Tampa, FL)> Pours a generally clear golden amber color with a thin white head that dissipates immediately to nothing. No lacing on glass. Lively carbonation. Aroma is strong ripe citrus and tangerine, notes of 7-up, orange peel, some slight honey and caramel. Flavor is fruity with notes of ripe oranges, some honey, slight medicinal and cough syrup notes as well. Generally light to medium body with a syrupy citrus finish.
