Pours a dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, chocolate, roastiness with hints of spices and fruit. Taste is medium to high sweet leading to a light hoppy finish. Pretty good.

Bottle. Clear brown with a pale beige head. Spicy chocolate aroma with some hazelnuts. Smooth, almost creamy texture. Certainly full-bodied for a brown ale, but then I saw how strong it is. Sweet and very chocolatey with nuts, some bread, moderate but well-defined bitterness. A touch of booze at the end too. Pretty tasty, but 8%!? for a pleasant quaffing beer seems over the top - even if it’s for après- falling off a mountain. Still, good beer.

Dark with a compact copper head; roasting aromas on the nose; toasty grainy palate with a pleasant finish. Surprisingly good.

Dark lacing with micro head. There’s clouds in my beer, clouds in my beer. Light chocolate and roasted caramel malt aroma. The taste is good and malty. Taste starts out sweet and malty with some caramel and chocolate. There is a mild amount of bitterness from the hops in the finish.

Heavy chocolate flavor, trending towards dark chocolate. Saaz hops are quite evident, with a cool funky spice. Excellent mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep brown with mahogany highlights. Some spice in the aroma. Mouth feel is heavy and a bit oily with notes of chocolate dried fruit. Biggest turnoff is the alcohol, but I enjoyed it overall.

Pours a deep caramel color. Aroma is of caramel and chocolate mix. Taste is a bit bready with a roasted malt flavor. A mild spice to it all, which confuses me. I enjoy the complex flavors but was bothered with the spice mix. Overall an enjoyable beer.

On tap @ Porkys Pizza Palace. Brown pour with a khaki head. Nose is spicy hops, toasted nuts, roast, and dark chocolate. A nice mild sweetness as a fair amount of toast. Flavor is pleasantly sweet. Chocolate, caramel, toast, as nuts. A nice spicy hop character and a mild roast and coffee character.
