Pours dark brown with a large fading head. Very malty aroma with nutty malt, a bit of chocolate and some soft booze. Sweet flavours too. More nutty malt, almost cloying. Some melanoidin notes and booze. Needs more carbonation.

A fantastic American brown ale. The aroma is bread, honey and citrus. The taste is biscuits, almonds grapefruit and glucose. Nice length, nice body. A lovely warming winter brown ale.

Bottle. Clear brown with a pale beige head. Spicy chocolate aroma with some hazelnuts. Smooth, almost creamy texture. Certainly full-bodied for a brown ale, but then I saw how strong it is. Sweet and very chocolatey with nuts, some bread, moderate but well-defined bitterness. A touch of booze at the end too. Pretty tasty, but 8%!? for a pleasant quaffing beer seems over the top - even if it’s for après- falling off a mountain. Still, good beer.

Dark lacing with micro head. There’s clouds in my beer, clouds in my beer. Light chocolate and roasted caramel malt aroma. The taste is good and malty. Taste starts out sweet and malty with some caramel and chocolate. There is a mild amount of bitterness from the hops in the finish.

Heavy chocolate flavor, trending towards dark chocolate. Saaz hops are quite evident, with a cool funky spice. Excellent mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep brown with mahogany highlights. Some spice in the aroma. Mouth feel is heavy and a bit oily with notes of chocolate dried fruit. Biggest turnoff is the alcohol, but I enjoyed it overall.
