(12oz bottle). Pours hazy brown with lots of sedimentation in suspension. kahki head. Aroma of wood, caramel, and cocoa nibs. Taste is sweet with some roasty bitterness. Kind of like a chocolate tootsie pop. Medium finish with a slightly bitter, dry finish.

ok, this one is cheating. it is a brown ale, but it’s LC’s Downtown Brown all spiced up for the holidays, giving it a better body, and heartier mouthfeel and aroma. gotta have atleast one every year."

>> Clear amber pour, weak foam. Nose is sticky, old candies, sticky strawberry. Taste is strawberry, sticky, some roast, mint, dark bread crust. Eh.

Brown pour, no head, nose is chocolate, taste is boozy, alcohol, not a bad beer at all.

Pour is a brown with a large tan head. Aroma is an ok roasted chocolate and caramel malt. Flavor is more chocolaty malt with a bit of roasted nuts. Finish is again a ok roasty malt. Alcohol is no problem. For a brown ale its decent but it does not offer anything beyond the average. Another bargain bin pick-up that is still drinking well.

Pours dark brown with a large fading head. Very malty aroma with nutty malt, a bit of chocolate and some soft booze. Sweet flavours too. More nutty malt, almost cloying. Some melanoidin notes and booze. Needs more carbonation.

A fantastic American brown ale. The aroma is bread, honey and citrus. The taste is biscuits, almonds grapefruit and glucose. Nice length, nice body. A lovely warming winter brown ale.

Pours a dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, caramel, chocolate, roastiness with hints of spices and fruit. Taste is medium to high sweet leading to a light hoppy finish. Pretty good.

Bottle. Clear brown with a pale beige head. Spicy chocolate aroma with some hazelnuts. Smooth, almost creamy texture. Certainly full-bodied for a brown ale, but then I saw how strong it is. Sweet and very chocolatey with nuts, some bread, moderate but well-defined bitterness. A touch of booze at the end too. Pretty tasty, but 8%!? for a pleasant quaffing beer seems over the top - even if it’s for après- falling off a mountain. Still, good beer.
