UPDATED: DEC 12, 2006 Dark brown body that seems to have a litle bit of rust coloring at the edges. The head is slightly yellowish colored. The aroma is medicinal with band aids and some apples. There is also a hint of chocolate Not as bad once it warms. The taste is light chocolate and band aids. There is also some light cardboard. The finish is dry with some cheap milk chocolate. Thanks for the beer, Weep.

Ah, yes, another gift from loving girlfriend Nancy - Alright, this one poured a dark brown brew with a toffeelike aroma and a very light tan head of foam. Tastewise, there’s coffee, cocao, and malt sugars melded together in a complex way.

glennmastrange (1637) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - APR 10, 2012
Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt notes of roasted and nutty, light to moderate herbs for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with brown sugar, faint spiced rum and a little irony in the beginning from being in the bottle. Head is average size, fizzy/frothy, beige, with a few spots of lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear meium-dark brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, watery with lively to fizzy carbonation. A few off aspects detracted a little from the good stuff, but this is still a nice drinming Brown Ale.

Poured from a 12-oz. bottle into a pint glass. About a finger of head. Color was mahogany black. Minimal lacing on the top that dissipated quickly. No film on the sides. Smelled chocolate malts up front. Also some toffee and caramel notes in there. Got some spices in there as well although I couldn’t distinguish the main one, Maybe even some light citrus hops? Good initial taste right out of the gate. Got that same chocolate taste as the nose. Not as malty as I would have thought. Definitely some caramel. No citrus hops like the nose. Simple, yet good taste. Medium body. Creamy, but watery texture. Average-to-above average carbonation. Smooth abrupt finish. Not a bad beer overall. Nice chocolate taste, smooth and consistent. Very drinkable.

This poured a lighter brown color with an off white head. Aroma was of light spice, dusty hops, and some roasted/toasted malts. Flavor was more full thean the aroma would lead one to beleive. Very nice amount of spices, some rasot and caramel, and some herbal hops too. Decent.

On tap at melt, surprisingly this beer is darker than anticipated and more chocolatey too, malty nose and malty taste with bits of chocolate occasionally peeking through

Pours dark with a light thin head. Chocolate and coffee dominate the nose. Smooth, roasty taste is comforting. Pleasantly surprised, would definitely have again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11 jan 2012, tap. Ruby/brown, clear. Smells like a malty, burnt Guinness. Actually really nice. Med/thin body and fizzy. Has a nice, rich robust burnt coffe bean and faint vanilla flavor that is crisp as well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
