Had at the 4th Annual Festival of Iowa Beers on tap. Wasn’t good. Hardly any apricot taste and it tasted stale.

Draft at 4th Annual Festival of Iowa Beers. Poured a slightly hazy, pale yellow color with a white head. Smelled of distinct apricot. A little buttery too. Nice enough aroma. Not the best flavor. I tasted burnt apricot, powdered sugar, and fruity cough syrup. Eh.

From the tap, served in a pint glass. Poured a pale yellowish golden with a foamy white head, decent retention, settled into a thin lacing. Nice fruity aroma, fresh apricot juice and pale wheat malts. Good carbonation and a softly crisp, creamy smooth light bodied mouthfeel. The taste is much like the aroma, apricot juice is that not too sweet, not sugary, fresh juicy, chalky pale wheat malts and just a hint of spice, an easy drinkability overall. I much prefer this to their everyday wheat, more flavorful and tasty. The last time I was at the Duck, the bartendress was telling everyone at the bar how she’s been cutting this, half and half, with their regular wheat to make it more palatable, I don’t know why, it’s a pleasant fruit beer.
