2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jpm30 (1587) - East Central, Georgia, USA - MAY 11, 2007
From the tap, served at a cold cellar temperature in a pint glass. I was told by one of the lady bartenders that is sweet honey added to their regular red lager.
Poured a clear reddish copper with a small foamy white head that quickly settled into a thin lacing.
Light aromas of honey, not very strong, husky cereal grains, and a faint amount of sweet toasted caramel.
Good tiny bubbly carbonation and a softly crisp, watery, smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Pleasant, but kinda bland overall, and touch watery, honey contributes to the sweetness of this lager, but is low key in the taste, more of a honey fruitiness, the malts are bit watery tasting, like sugar added to tap water, grainy, watery toasted caramel and a taste of peanut husks emerges at the end, not much of a hop presence, and a sweet watery finish.
I personally prefer this to the Duck’s red lager, slightly better than the Michelob honey lager I had recently, I’ll stick to the pale lagers when I’m drinking at the Lost Duck.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 heemer77 (4799) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 11, 2006
This beer was a winner. I had a pint at the brewpub. The body was iced tea almost copper colored. The aroma was dry and grainy with some toffee and honey. Nice and rich. The taste had some honey and bread crust with a little bit of peanuts. There was plenty of carbonation, but I am sure that is an artifact of their serving tanks. A nice session style brew.
