4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Presentation: It was served on tap at the Lost Rhino Brewery. Appearance: The body has a cloudy light amber look with a small just off white head on top. This head settles quickly and make a little slick lacing on the glass as I drink. Smell: The aroma is classic Hefe-Weisse all the way. Taste/Palate: This one is a stand out from the rest of there line up. It has all the classic bready wheat maltiness with banana, clove and light bubblegum flavor notes. The finsh is well balanced and palate feels well carbonated and easy drinking.

Banana, apricot, lemon zest aroma. Cloudy amber, thin head. Dry apricot, orange, lemongrass. Mouthfeel is a tad harsh. Belgian yeast? Tasty, but seems more Belgian than German.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Almost feels like saaz hops in this. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Not quite good for style. Finishes more bitter than usual. Golden pour with good head and lacing. More grainy as well than most hefeweizens. On tap at DC Summerfest.

1.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Poured as a 2 oz sampler at Virginia Beer Live 2013. May have been suffering from palate blowout. I strongly suspect something was wrong with this tasting - the sample I was given looked, smelled, and tasted nothing at all like a hefeweizen. I don’t know if the lines were crossed, I was given a sample of another beer accidentally, or what. The sample I had was perfectly clear, darker colored than a hefeweizen, smelled of hops, tasted of hops, and finished with barley malt flavor. I will re-sample this at some point and re-rate this.
