Nice crisp clear golden coloured body with a very pleasant two centimetre tall just off-white coloured head - very nice. Aroma of crisp galaxy or australia/new zealand hops coupled with some tropical fruits with definite flavours of passionfruit in the mix. Medium-bodied; Assertive tropical fruit flavour joining with the malt and a light sweetness comes out as well with the nice balance. Aftertaste shows some subtle sweetness, a hint of caramel, a little malt body, some hop bitterness and a lot of tropical fruit - very nice and refreshing. Overall, a very nicely balanced IPA with more emphasis on the tropical fruits than the hops, per se, showing not much bitterness, but a lot of fruit smoothness and sweet flavours at the finish. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Falls Church (Tyson’s Corner), Virginia on 10-July-2014 for US$6,99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-October-2014.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2012
Location: Cask at Rustico Restaurant - Alexandria, 5/27/12

Aroma: The nose was pretty hoppy, with grapefruit and other citrus leading the way
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden color, with a typical looking small cask-pour head
Flavor: The flavor is lightly sweet up-front leading into a medium citrus hop
Palate: This one had a light-medium body, a smooth feel, and a lightly dry finish to it
Overall Impression: I thought that this one was a solid citrus/grapefruit IPA. Those fruity hops are really the predominant feature of this beer. Overall, I thought that that this beer worked well on cask. The flavors came through nicely.

Tap. Pours hazy gold with average, fizzy white head; decent retention and good lacing. Aroma is heavy grassy and floral hops, lemon and other citrus, bread malt, and light pine. Flavor is balanced malt and hops (light bitterness) with supporting citrus esters; dry finish. Not as hoppy as I expected given the nose. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.

Serving: Draft at the brewery. It pours cloudy and yellow. Unfiltered IPA? Sign me up. The nose has light tropical notes. The flavor reminded me of Two Hearted with less sweetness and more aggressive hops. Sort of a mix of tropical fruit, pine, and a very light touch of grain. Long bitter finish. Certainly nice enough to get a growler of!

Bottle. From a trade bonus. Aroma is a ton of citrus. Lots of marmalade and orange. Pour is dark orange with a large white head. Taste is very bitter initially then some light lemon and grapefruit. Hop flavor seems a little weird. Sort of earthy as it warms. A dry finish. Lots of carbonation. Ok.
