2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Glouglouburp (4783) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 18, 2010
In short: A muddy, yeasty, fruity and floral blonde belgian ale. Meh.
How: Tap at Chambly beer Fest 2010
The look: Cloudy peach color with a few big bubbles acting as a head
In long: Nose is mostly floral, borderline perfume with light notes of cat piss. Taste is yeasty and fruity. Pineaples, banana cake, citrus fruits. A bit of plywood. Some hops resin at the end. This beer felt muddy to me and not refreshing at all. Like when I pour myself a glass from the last 10% of some big unfiltered Belgian ale bottle. That muddy. But this wasn’t from a bottle, this was from a tap. Maybe I got the bottom of a keg. I don’t know. Will resample eventually. On thing for sure I didn’t like the glass I was served. Not at all. But maybe I’m just a whining arrogant little prick. How much of an arrogant prick I am you may ask? Let me put it this way. You put the Dalai Lama and I in the same room and I’m pretty sure that within 15 minutes he’ll try to take a swing at me.
