Pours a hazy yellow color with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus, coriander, curacao and mild hops. Good flavor of spices, yeast, citrus and noble hops, it’s also fairly sweet. The body is medium with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. I would have like it more dry than sweet, but it’s still a pretty good belgian ale.

(Rating #4509)

In short: A sweet and fruity Belgian blonde ale. Well made but far from memorable
How: Tap at Chambly Beer Festival 2011
The look: Almost clear golden-blonde body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose is very fruity (peaches upfront with also other light-color fruits) with some grassy hops notes. Tastes packs a lot of cake-ish cereals, sweet fresh fruits (pineapples, peaches, more…), nice honey , candied apples, some grassy bitterness at the very end. A bit too “sweet fruit juice” for my own taste. Not bad beer but there were certainly better beers at this festival I should have had instead of this one. I just hate it when I have too many options to chose from and I have to make difficult choices, like when I read on a frozen pizza box to cook the pizza between 14 and 16 minutes.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at there brewpub on July 27, 2010. Clear blonde, thin head. Aroma of sweet barley, malted wheat. Taste of barley and grass, slightly malty, dry aftertaste. It’s pretty close to a saison!

A hazy yellow ale with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice pungeant mix of orange peels, cloves , bubblegum and citrus. In mouth, a oily caramel malt with light hops, orange peels, coriander, rich and warming. Quite nice. On tap at brewpub, May 9 2009.

My Bottom Line:
This excitedly fruity and inherently spicy Belgian Ale promotes milky yeastiness and honest cereals in a well-built but perhaps unrefined (for now) vessel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam recedes to a ring on the murky blond-beige.
-The expressive yeastiness is impressive the comfortably low carbonation increasing the juiciness of the fruit esters.
-The spiciness recalls herbal hoppiness as much as ginger.
-This drinks just like any 5% Belgian Ale, even though the body is a tad bulkier.

On tap at the brewpub.
