COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
SRM : 6.3 IBU : 30.6 4.5 % alc./vol.

A very soft and unadulterated example. Not quite the type of beer that you would expect in the middle of February, by the brewer behind the MacKroken Flower. Quite the type of beer I’ve grown to prefer on the other hand. A very cloudy, pale golden hue covered by a helathy and frothy white head of excellent retention. Smells fresh. Smells clean. Not the most complicated ingredient list, but what went into the kettle is also happening in my glass. Fresh grain and wheat with the bordering hay-like notions that fit the grassy, flowery, spicy, yet soft hops. Very quaffable. Crisp carbonation. Very refreshing acidity, reminiscent of honey melon. Mineral and flowery closure. Apparently, Miguel is not 100% satisfied with the result. He intends to have the fermentation taking place at 30 degree Celsius while it was done around 25 for this batch. He expects stronger esters and heavier peppery character. I’ll revisit my rating then, but I already dig the freshness and purity focus. No spices nonsense.

Note: 6+/10

Pint at the pub. HaZy gold pour, white head. Aroma is classic saison, estery with lots of pepper, euro hops and grain. Taste is spicy, lots of grain, yeasty notes, bitter finish. Palate is nice and dry, well carbed. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at Vice et Versa in Montreal. Pours a hazy light yellow with puffy white head. Aroma is spicy, peppery, sour and slightly yeasty. Taste is thick and layered. Sour notes mix well with the spiciness. Some mild banana, clove here but sweeter and more saison. very good.

Tap at Vices et Versa. Very enjoyable slightly sour and spicy saison. The brett-like yeast produces an overall fruity (peaches and apricots) and Jolly Pumpkin-like sourness. Not as hoppy as others seem to decribe to me but it clearly seemed of an higher ABV then that 4,5% suggested here on this page. Quite unique in Québec, right now. I liked it quite a lot.

On tap at Vices et Versa (Montréal, QC). Hazy golden body with a thin white creamy head. Fair malty/hoppy aroma with herbal and fruity hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty and coriander notes. Ends with a decent bitter/sour finish. Enjoyable Saison.

On tap at the brewpub, honey glod color, with a thick white head, yeasty, earthy spicy herbal, flower petal nose with some light zesty, citrusy, lemon peel esters with kind of dandelion leafiness, and some honeyed toasted, wheaty malt notes in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeastry, fruity ripe apple, spicy character of nutmeg, faint cinnamon, with some sweet toasted, biscuity, wheaty malt accents, with a nice flowery herbal hop citrusy upfront leaving some zesty, lemon, grapefruit peel undertones, leading towards a fruity, lingering floral hop grassy bittering finish.

Pours a cloudy orangey color with a thin white head. Aroma of farmhouse terroir with spices and yeast. Good flavor of hops, farmhouse terroir, yeast and spices with a bitter end. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Very good.
