Fermented and maturated in oak vats. No adding yeast. Spontaneous fermentation because of adding freshly pressed Barbera grapes juice that contains the skins, directly from a viticulturist near Alba. Brewed once a year at vintage time obviously. Available in 375 ml or 750 ml bottles.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours reddish brown with a pinkish beige head and a sour fruit aroma. There is a slightly sour grape flavor with a tart oaky finish. Well-layered and tasty.

a very clean-flavored Flemish red (lacking the vomit-and-cheese-like flavors of Duchesse de Bourgogne) with Barbera grape must. very vinous, a bit sweeter and less tannic/dry than I was hoping, but still very true grape flavors and tart red fruit notes.

375 ml bottle @ Patricks. Almost clear, deep red body with a disappearing odd-white head. Aroma is fruity with hint of yeast and wood and light funky. Flavor is sour fruity, some acidity, cherry, wood and some bitterness, rather vinous. Very nice body and a fruity and funky aftertaste. Not the everyday sour beer, quite original, and I like it.

Sampled from 0.375 L bottle. Looks nice; Glowing red with a pink-shaded blond top. Fresh and inviting fruit aroma. Grapes and raspberries, lemon and ruhbarb. Fruity flavor as well, with grapes in the lead. More sour than tart, yet easy on the palate. Funky, notes of lactic acids. Mild sparkling carbonation. Alcohol well hidden. Finishes dry and sourish fruity. A very nice one.

37,5cl bottle. 2010 vintage. Pours a deep ruby colour with a medium pinkish head. Foam is fizzy and dissipates quickly. Aroma is funk, tart and wine. Red grapes, red berries, horse blanket. Taste is slightly sweet and quite acidic. Tart citrusy notes along with red berries and oak. Fruity grapes presence. Funk. Thin body and lively carbonation. Overall, a truly delicious brew, which reminds me of St. Lamvinous. This is less flavorful than the Cantillon though, and tops it at 8% ABV. Worth your money and time? Sure thing.

Bottle, bought @ Skjold Burne, Aarhus.
Pours deep ruby red with an initially creamy that turns fizzy off-white head. Aroma is lovely, lots of grapes, some raspberry, good funk, a bit of sweet strawberry jam, light lactic. High and kinda fizzy carbonation, fair oily and light dry mouthfeel. Flavour is mild sweet, some clear grapes with good general dryness. Lactic tartness is there, but not overly so. Mild funk. Good, balancing dryness in the finish.
