3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Beers Of Europe, King’s Lynn; vintage 2011, batch PDUV04-0911
Cloudy dark amber color. Heavy aroma, with light fruit, plastic, some Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, and animals. The mouthfeel is good, there is some malt flavor with light residual sweetness and pleasant fruity presence from the grape, even a light strawberry note.
Clumsy but pleasant.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The pour is a hazed reddish/amber color with an off-white head. Smell is surprisingly catty, but very tropical as well. Lots of melon, some grass, and a definite sweetness like all their sours seem to have. The flavor is moderately tart with some of the same tropical and melon notes. Not terribly complex, but there is a little bit of grass and oak, some berries, and maybe a bit of apple.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bought on Nate’s recommendation. Lovely currant, raspberry and soft tart nose. Not much going on body wise and the flavour is very light - some wood, red fruits, grape juice and of course wild yeasty yeast. Not a big beer - though the finish has something to say. Gets quite sweet as it warms too. 2011 bottle - consumed too young? Not as big as I expected and certainly some way off say, Russian River.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark copper with some brown hues and a small off white head. Nose is ginger, orange, brown sugar and light lemon. Taste is sweet with a tart presence midway through combing with bitter for a balanced finish. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean. Medium body with a long aftertaste. This guy is a visionary on the Italian beer front and as the only one doing primarily sours, he’s killing it.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 75 cl. Vintage 2011. A murky orange-brown with virtually no head. Extremely overcarbonated - the beer explodes when I open it and only about a third is saved. Not good. Aroma is fruity with apple notes and a bretty edge. Taste is sweet fruity with sweet berryish fruit and a subdued tart note. Finish is, as the beer itself, subtle and elegant. Only a whiff of hops. Medium body. This beer makes me feel like an idiot - paying about 18 € for about 25-30 cl of remaining beer (after opening). I’ll go for a Rodenbach Grand Cru any day.
