3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tfredvik (648) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 20, 2012
The initially clear medium amber body transformed into a fairly cloudy one when I emptied the last drops of the bottle into my glass. The decent-sized off-white head reduces to a .5 cm fully lasting layer, fair lacing. The aroma is surprisingly sweet fruity and pleasant, with apple cider, fermented apples, oak, leather and apple cider vinegar. Not as demanding as other sour ales. The taste is moderate sweet, light acetic, acidic and sour, and even some bitterness. The taste fades out fairly quickly, but the gentle fruity flavours are long lived. Fermented apples and oaky apple cider run the show, but I also get leather and cherries. Quite light on the palate with a close to watery texture and a dry light tart finish. The sour notes are rather subdued, making this an ale that is perfect for newcomers of the style, i.e. me.

Big thanks to Brad for sharing this brew. Served in a Dark Lord mini-snifter.
Pours a muddy reddish-brown with a thin off-white head. The nose carries a bit of cherry plus a good amount of grapes. Moderate acidity; mostly lactic with a bit of an acetic character. Faint oak. The flavor focuses on the fruit and has some acid in the background. Light-medium body with a good bit of acidity. A nice brew.

Bottle enjoyed at home
Hazy copper with hints of orange, big head that falls down and totally dissappears. Nice laces. Smells of ripe fruits, plums, apple and some funky brett. Some malt body, good sweetness, nice balanced off with sourness acids. Not as agressive as some of the other sours from Loverbeer. Totally this beer is very drinkable, and i may want to try this one again

Tap at Ma Che Siete, Rome. Murky red / orange / brown, bit like autumn, thin off white big bubbled head. Lovely aroma of oak, berries. Flavour has more woody notes, fruity berry like stuff, caramel, dry finish. For a sour it’s so smooth and neckable. Really liked this, very tasty.
