- Lorenzo Dabove in arte Kuaska

Bottle at Bir & Fud. Lovely nose of grapes and sour fruits. Rich malt flavor with the right acetic balance and light yogurt. Alcohol is surprisingly well hidden. Beautiful and wonderfully drinkable.

11.2oz bottle. Rating #77. Reddish/brown color with a light tan head. Light sour aroma with a touch of sweet fruit. Tart and dry, cherries, kind of like those sour cherry balls which I really like. Good stuff. (2238)

Reddish brown appearance with a frothy white foam. The aroma is fruity and funky with similarities to homemade strawberry jam.. Lots of vinegar aromas and also some vanilla and woody notes. Oily mouthfeel. Zesty with fresh berries on palate along with a tart, but refreshing aftertaste. Very enjoyable!

Bottle, bought @ Skjold Burne, Aarhus. Clear red with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Soon gone. Lots of bubbles. Aroma is sweet and tart. Cranberries, cherries, funk, liqourice, light lactic. High carbonation, dry and light creamy feel. Flavour has cherries, some cranberries, vinious, grapes, funk. Quite fresh and lovely.

The initially clear medium amber body transformed into a fairly cloudy one when I emptied the last drops of the bottle into my glass. The decent-sized off-white head reduces to a .5 cm fully lasting layer, fair lacing. The aroma is surprisingly sweet fruity and pleasant, with apple cider, fermented apples, oak, leather and apple cider vinegar. Not as demanding as other sour ales. The taste is moderate sweet, light acetic, acidic and sour, and even some bitterness. The taste fades out fairly quickly, but the gentle fruity flavours are long lived. Fermented apples and oaky apple cider run the show, but I also get leather and cherries. Quite light on the palate with a close to watery texture and a dry light tart finish. The sour notes are rather subdued, making this an ale that is perfect for newcomers of the style, i.e. me.
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 2 years before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]
