COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
- Lorenzo Dabove in arte Kuaska

Bought on Nate’s recommendation. Lovely currant, raspberry and soft tart nose. Not much going on body wise and the flavour is very light - some wood, red fruits, grape juice and of course wild yeasty yeast. Not a big beer - though the finish has something to say. Gets quite sweet as it warms too. 2011 bottle - consumed too young? Not as big as I expected and certainly some way off say, Russian River.

Pours dark copper with some brown hues and a small off white head. Nose is ginger, orange, brown sugar and light lemon. Taste is sweet with a tart presence midway through combing with bitter for a balanced finish. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean. Medium body with a long aftertaste. This guy is a visionary on the Italian beer front and as the only one doing primarily sours, he’s killing it.

Bottle, 75 cl. Vintage 2011. A murky orange-brown with virtually no head. Extremely overcarbonated - the beer explodes when I open it and only about a third is saved. Not good. Aroma is fruity with apple notes and a bretty edge. Taste is sweet fruity with sweet berryish fruit and a subdued tart note. Finish is, as the beer itself, subtle and elegant. Only a whiff of hops. Medium body. This beer makes me feel like an idiot - paying about 18 € for about 25-30 cl of remaining beer (after opening). I’ll go for a Rodenbach Grand Cru any day.

330 ml bottle shared by STLWill- thanks again, Will! 2011 vintage. Pours a clear reddish-brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of berries, apples, plums, candy, and sweet malts- tart and acidic. Same for the flavor, which hits the same berry and tart fruity notes. Light-medium bodied, with a fruity, tart, acidic mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Inch thick tan colored fizzy head on a clear orange body. Brettannomyces, fruits, berries and cherries on the nose. More berries and fruits in the mouth along with malts and a light bitterness. Medium body. Astringent with a dry tongue.

Bottle, at Olympen. It pours an almost clear, copper colored body, topped by a medium sized off-white head. The aroma is lightly vinegarish, with some dried fruits, berries and a hint of alcohol. Flavorwise, the dried fruits dominates, but there’s also a touch of vinegar and a faint caramel notes. Berries too. More or less full bodied, slightly tart on the palate. A decent amount of vinegar in the end. Overall, a bit on the vinegar side I think, but a nice beer anyway. 111015
