Oak amber ale. Fermented and maturated only in oak vats. The name "Madamin" is a piedmontese word meaning "young lady". Available in 375 ml or 750 ml bottles. ---
Oak Amber Ale. 5,7%

Very nice dark fruit, oaky, woody aroma and flavors. Almost cherry like but no sweetness, just dark woody fruitiness. Makes me thing of rodenbach grand cru. Full flavored, maybe a bit watery palate for how dark it is, but a really nice sour brown. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a cloudy amberish caramel with foamy off-white head. Smells oaky and mildly tart with notes of amber malt and a touch of toast. Tastes kind of like it smells, but unbalanced, with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Meh.

Draft pour at the pine box sour fest. Listed on their board with spelling errors. See, I told you I’m learning my Italian beer terms. Pours a dark brown color with a dark fruit aroma. Sour purple grape flavor with plum. Has a bit of an oaky flavor to it as well. Bold, dark fruit finish. A little less tart than the rest, but it’s definitly sour. Can’t complain here. Great beer.

2012 bottle from Taniguchi. Nice, mild nose, cherry, yogurt, light vinegar, chocolate. Lovely deep red, lace. Woody flavor, creamy, vanilla and yogurt, cherry, lightly acidic, bitter finish. very woody, actually. Low carbonation. Full but rather light. Decent but a bit lacking in the flavor department, and way too expensive.

4oz on tap at Liberty’s for $5. Curious about this one, as LoverBeer BeerBrugna bottles just very limited distribution last week... I guess a few kegs were sent as well. I sampled the Brugna last week and enjoyed it, but it wasn’t anywhere near as sour as you’d expect for something listed here as a "sour ale"... This one however is definitely satisfyingly sour. Nice moderate to bigger sour taste. Spicy, oaky, dark fruit, satisfying tannin. Nice mild floral. My environment is dark but this appears to be a mostly hazy kind of darker red color. With some swishing a thin khaki bubbly head develops, virtually none otherwise. Not really any lace left behind. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp mildly soft lighter carbonation. Mildly slick body, lightly dry in the finish. $5/4oz feels expensive still, but a pretty satisfying take on sour brown overall. Nice to try, especially considering that the 375ml would have likely been another $17 bottle.

On tap at Bir & Fud. 6.2% This sour ale is a rose tinted reddish brown with a musty cork + tart berry nose. Light bodied with an effervescent carbonation giving it a soft mouthfeel. The taste is really pleasing tart berry/cherry with a bit of maltiness. Very nice.
