Murky amber pour with a light tan head. Great nose. Vinous with tart cherry notes, brett is very nice. Tart and dry with lots of earthy and funky notes. Cherry shows nicely with a touch of wood.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
In short: A yeast-funky and very dusty semi-sour red ale with low drinkability. Meh.
How: Bottle 330ml, 2011 vintage, over one year of age, 2 years before expiration date.
The look: Burnt red body topped by a persistent small pink head.
In long: Nose has esters, notes of ethyl acetate (glue sensation), tart cherries, cough syrup, woody red wines. Strong smell that is not exactly inviting, a little too chemical, borderline plastic. Taste is incredibly dusty and a bit wdoody, a mouthful of sawdust, tart red cherries, a whole lot of funk, raspberry seeds, an insane amount of dusty dry yeast, beach sand, some caramel, biting acidity. Overall sourness level is medium and lactic in nature. Excessively over-carbonated, I couldn’t keep the beer in my mouth. Not sure what to make of this beer, Dusty dry finish. Some aspects o it I like but some I really didn’t like. Very low drinkability, I struggled to drink a little 330ml, me, a drunk. Not only was this a bad beer but it was also expensive, this is adding insult to injury, like being poked in the eye by a middle finger.

Tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, 29/04/13.
Hazed dark amber with a mahoosive light beige head.
Nose lacks depth, sour/tarte fruits, hint of caramel, soured berries, touch of balsamics.
Taste comprises tarte berry fruits, lightly soured strawberries, light sugar, touch funky.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation.
Decent enough sour but there are plenty of better ones out there!

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark amber with a thick tan head. Aroma is sour lemon and yeast. Taste is sour lemon up front. The oak really comes out in the mid palate and everything combines for a mild cherry liqeur and faint vanilla finish. Really good.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap in Roma. Pours a bit hazy reddish appearance with a tan head. Lacto, mild vinegar, cherry, vanilla, fairly oaky aroma. Somewhat juicy, rich tart cherry, a bit acetic, oaky, raspberry, slightly juicy, apricot fruity flavor. Pretty interesting but it doesn’t blow my mind.
