Red grape aroma pervades here- were they trying to make a wine? The oak is light overall with some sourness and slight leather. Appearance is very dark amber/red with bone head. Flavor matches the nose, but with some herbal presence; the finish is sour and vinous overall. Palate is creamy with some prickly bubbles. Solid, not anything too outstanding.

On tap at Bir & Fud. 6.2% This sour ale is a rose tinted reddish brown with a musty cork + tart berry nose. Light bodied with an effervescent carbonation giving it a soft mouthfeel. The taste is really pleasing tart berry/cherry with a bit of maltiness. Very nice.

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe for Big Wood 2014, pours an opaque cloudy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out funky BO notes, some oak and feet. Flavour brings out notes of feet, dry vinous notes, and oak. Extremely well-balanced, dry and complex. Wonderful stuff.

Pours reddish and fairly clear with a large off-white head. The aroma has lots of cherry, sharpness, vinegar and a bit of cream. It has a medium frothy body with a lot of fairly soft carbonation. The flavor starts with the traits from the aroma, but it is malty and has a mushy aspect to it. The finish is very mineral heavy and has a bit of a cough medicine side to it. This is okay. It has some age which I thought should be kind to the style, but maybe this one is meant to be consumed fresher than what I did.

Pours dark amber. Berries, apple cider on the nose. Taste isn't bad. Tart, apple cider, oak. Good little sipper wouldn't drink a lot of this.

Bottle, shared with Brian. Pinkish-orange, translucent, very lively head that settles leaving lace. Tart, unripened berries rule the nose and palate, tart lactic acidity, very light body for 6+%. Refreshing.
