3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
37,5cl bottle at home.
Black with a brown, frothy head that soon settles to a thin layer.
The first aroma that is evident is an intriguing and complex winous sour that reminds me of balsamico vinager. But there is also some earthy basement aromas, and lingering in the back is the coffee. As the beer warms up I´m getting more and more treelike/woody aromas as well.
Tastes of a combination of dried fruits, spices and chocolate, plenty of bitterness in the finish.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Dark brown in colour, big white head - the beer was seriously overcarbonated. This is sour stout with poor coffee aftertaste, bitter with acidic finish. Some barrel notes found, but nothing really great. Huge disappoinent.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Assaggio @ kamun lab pub.
Scura senza schiuma.
Al naso caffè macinato fresco.
In bocca esce nota china che lotta col caffè.
Strana e poco bevibile, interessante comunque.

Forse a lungo andare potrebbe un pò essere molto particolare, ma a me è garbata parecchio.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sour stout. The beer seems to have two phases, but they harmonize quite well. The sour taste combined with the strong body works good, but I don’t like the coffee in the finish.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very black color with small beige head. Chalk and ashes, espresso, but also a fruity sourness. This dry chalky character is very irritating. The sourness gives some sort of a balance. Very very dry. Low carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
375 ml. bottle sampled @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2014. Dark wood brown, little mocha bubbles only on the side. Nose is huge ashes & charred oak, charred coffee, liquorish,… Taste is vinous red grapes mixed with charred coffee, ashes, roast, burned, charred,… Bit thin body. More unique than good. Interesting never the less. This would probably get higher scores if it were labelled as a “sour/wild ale” instead of “Imperial Stout”.
