Bottle, lotto PPAP02-0510. Pours a beautiful black, with a thick dark head. Mellow aroma of roasted malts, liquorice and chocolate, and notes of tar and coffee. Flavour is malty and has a lot of liquorice, but also some burned peat and chocolate. It has a good sweetly finish with chocolate, toffee and burned malts. A pleasant surprise!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
0,33 L bottle, vintage 2010. Entierly black. Big frothy choco colored head. Bold aroma of hard roasted dark malts. Yet fairly rounded with notes of cocoa beans, and touch of vanilla. Well roasted, medium strong malt body. Mellowing sweetness with vanilla tones. Distinct bitterness all the way throughout. A rock solid IS.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black, with a thunderous head of brown suds. Delicious aroma of coffee and chocolate. Pretty standard RIS fare so far. As it warms, it shows an earthy, woody side as well. On the flavour side of things, its a rich coffee and dry, bitter chocolate deal, with a slightly smoky, burnt and ashy finish. A little thin in the finish, but pretty darn flavourful and massive for 7%. Medium to light body, relatively calm carbonation. Its a good, lighter IS. I do feel like it would have been better with a little more of everything.

Imperial stout un po atipica e di bassa la gradazione alcolica, lho trovata buona ma non allaltezza della media.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2010 vintage 33cl bottle from Domus Birrae. Served into a snifter. Pours a dark brown colour with a dark beige big head. Lots of tiny bubbles. Looks pitch black and completely opaque in the glass. The lacing is good. Aroma of toasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, liquorice, grapes, and some smoked beef notes. Interesting smell. Moderately bitter and roasted in the mouth, no alchool presence at all, just a little pleasent warming sensation. The carbonation is soft, the body is thin to medium. Nice.

Draught @ BBF11:
Big brown head, that disappeared slow on top of a dark to black colored beer.
Smell light sour, yeast, roasted malts, salt, herbs.
Taste firm bitter, yeast, roasted malts, roasted barleys. Strange but ok mix.
Medium to fuller bitter light bodied roasted malts, hoppy herby aftertaste.
Low carbo, medium body, soft mouthfeel and a watery texture.
