UPDATED: MAY 22, 2013 Had this in brewery April 2013. I had this again in bottle at Jan & Charlotte’s, Ulfborg, Denmark in company of Jan, Charlotte, Craig, Stella and Loz 20.05.13 Pours very dark brown with tan head, a light fruity sourness with some vanilla on nose. Tangy in mouth, maybe a little plastic at back, sour, fruity and with little sweetness. Really tangy fruitiness the whisky ageing is rather secondary, you can certainly tell that this has been aged close to the Sour Grapes. Interesting and pretty decent. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Keg at brewery, 20th April 2013, in the beer garden, first day of spring! This is a beer full of flavour, some smoke and ash and you get the jack Daniels taste of the barrels, with a pretty sour back end that lingers, tasty all round

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg at Lovibonds. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasted coconut, vanilla, oak, cocoa, bourbon, red grape and mellow roast. The taste is tangy fruit, berry, jam, light roast, toast, berry yoghurt, wood, earth, ash and light alcohol warmth with a dry finish. Med-full body and moderate carbonation. Barrel-aging has definitely tanged this up, but its still pretty tasty.

Keg at PSBH, Manchester. Dark brown shade with a fleeting head. Nice bourbon presence on the nose with black cherry and cola. Instant hit of damp wood on the tongue before moving through bourbon and chocolate notes. Quite a bit of sourness at the heart of this. Wood and sour notes are perhaps too dominant. Whilst the barrels are a nice touch, I didn’t think the base beer was particularly impressive.
