3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 15, 2012 Keg @ Bruadar. Hazy golden amber colour, not much head. Mild fruity malt aroma. Fruity resin flavour. Quite smooth, sweet aftertaste. Not sure why this is a Hefeweizen. Somewhere between a blonde beer & English pale ale.

On keg at the Holyrood 9A. Pours a light golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of strawberry, candy apple and caramel. Similar strawberry flavour again some caramel also. Mildly bitter with a chewy mouth-feel. OK, surprisingly fruity.

Bottle. A rating from an old notebook. A bottle bomb that coated the table in sticky beer. Straw coloured, thin white head. Sour aroma, likely infected. Tastes just like vinegar, a certain infection.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl bottle courtesy of my Dad. Pours a fairly clear medium gold with an ample white head. Aroma is sweet fruit and crisp, clean hops. Taste follows suit with a little caramel malt in there as well. It’s very fresh and clean despite being very average. Nails the common English ale, would make a lovely summer patio beer, but just short of the mark for me.

On tap at the Rake. Light semi crisp palate. Curious bubblegum and banana sweetness. Creamy malt. A little orange in the undertone. If this was a blind tasting I would have marked this as a wheat beer on flavour! Softish dry finish.

poured clear and golden - although I believe it is not filtered, the head was white and quite loose. The nose was classic banana and clove notes dominating. In the mouth, again cloves, spice, muted bananas but with a dry crisp finish, which I found very refreshing. I felt though that the flavours were a bit muted and could benefit from being ramped up a bit.
