Draught @ The Lovibonds Brewery, was a nice surprise and added bonus to a most enjoyable afternoon.
I knew I should be drinking the Fresh Hop IPA, which was the theme of the day, but as a sourhead I just couldn’t resist. So ironically as Pete Brown spoke of his great IPA quest, there I was happily sipping the exact opposite, lol.
Ok, the beer... Poured pale yellow with a thin white head. Wheaty nose with a sour hint, much as you would imagine. Initially quite clean and crisp with a touch of sweetness, followed by an almost lemony citric sour note. There’s a little wheat or malt bite in the swallow that I could’ve done without but I still wouldn’t hesitate to drink it again...I’m just annoyed that it ran out before I could fill a growler, D’oh!
