Day 2 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle shared at the brewery tap - Buttenheim, 25/01/14. Golden with a big off white head. Nose had a metallic tinge to it, bready malts, fruit notes. Taste comprises toffee, grassy, light caramel, bread dough, no sign of the metallics. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light sweet notes in the closure. Ok stuff.

Krug at Annafest. Dark amber body with a nice white head. Herbal and slightly hoppy aroma. Taste is malty but with a pleasant hoppy part. Not bad at all!

500ml bottle from The Pot Still, Glasgow:
Sweet malts and basic, grassy hops along with some light vanilla and nondescript fruits. There is a sweet, syrup like aroma to the beer as well.
Amber to caramel brown with a clear body and a thin, bubbly white head on top that holds pretty well as a thick looking lacing.
Sweet malts again wtih some corn and lager hops. There is some caramel too but to be honest this one comes across as a pretty basic beer.
Smooth but quite light with some sweetness. It is however easy to drink and the finish is a very light bitter one.

Not really a beer that I was all that impressed with to be honest. It was drinkable but pretty plain and ordinary.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, malty, modest wheaty. Modest dry background. Finish still mild, a hint of butter cookie. Too mild for a märzen!

Super malty beer. I love malts, and I’m absolutely gobsmacked. It’s so malty everywhere, from aroma to late finish, and even more in between. Full and rich body. Malts malts malts malts! Me likey!
