Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Jul 5, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours out brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, light biscuit and some grain. Flavor is caramel and some light roasted malt. Mouth a little thin. Not too shabby for the style. scooterbub (332), Lander, Wyoming, USA Mar 31, 2009 355 ml bottle. Pours a dark black-amber with a large foamy, clingy, pillowy, clingy tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of caramel, roasted malt, chocolate and some smoke. Similar aroma. Has good mouthfeel, but the body is a little thin.
RSRIZZO (1332), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 10, 2007 Had this beer on 2/1/2000. Aroma is a light crisp malt scent. Carbonation is very good with a thick head. Taste is light crisp and clean. Starting with a light body it goes down crisp. The finish a light malt flavor with only the faintest hint of a roasted taste. It doesn’t seem to be much more than a dark colored Pilsner. MOJOAG (2), AUSTIN, Texas, USA does not count Sep 14, 2007 FLAVOR IS ROBUST. AFTERTASTE IS STRONG AND TART. APPEARANCE OUT OF BOTTLE IS CRISP AND CLEAR, BUT BELIES THE FLAVOR. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Lowenbrau Dark

cking (1001), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jun 1, 2007 Rated 12/4/06: Pretty standard fare here, used to be a dirt cheap sixer back in the day. Seems harder to come across now. Weak aroma very grainy, nice dark pour moderate head. Very quenching and drinkable. Flavor has some bite to it, good maltiness and very little hop presence. Average dunkel but decent for the buck. conor23 (110), Elgin, Illinois, USA Feb 12, 2007 I was a little disappointed by the "brewed in Canada" in the fine print. I’ve always thought it was sort of a scam when big European brewers brew in Canada so they can sell it in the US as imported (espacially since it is not any cheaper to buy). On the other hand, I found this beer to be quite good. Nice malty/roasted aroma. Flavor is also roasted malt, but not too sweet and quite smooth. I would be interested to compare this to one brewed on Germany.
