Produced up a translucent, shimmering chestnut brown with intermittent carbonation. Typically big, rocky off-white crown is mostly lasting and weaves a messy lace. Dusty, dirty and earthy malt on the nose with hints of fresh baked chocolate cookies and dried green herbs. Lots of chewy malt in the mouth. Quite sweet, toffeeish and biscuity upfront with a subdued bitterness of malt and dusty hops on the swallow. Lingering sweet malt notes, light chocolate and toffee with a herbal woodiness to it. The body is really quite light and its low carbonation makes it soft on the palate. Quite nice as I expected less of it. Very sessionable Dunkel.

From a 500 ml bottle. Dark brown with a medium head. Smell and taste of banana and yeast. a little bit of clove. Medium body and creamy.

Single bottle purchased at the Alpinhotel Kron Prinz in Bertchesgaden, Germany on 11/20/2011. Colour: Dark brown with high foamy but thin yellow head. Nose: Malt smells roasted but to a sour degree. Yeast and coca-cola together in harmony...well together anyway. Corn appears strong after much swirling. Taste: Light sweet, medium-light bitter, medium sour. There is a some toasty wood that shows early but then it fades into strong corn profile. Simply not a great dunkel...to me anyway.

On tap in Hamburg. Clear copper with a small slightly tan head. Aroma of malt, dark fruits, some grain and something sweet like honey. The same in the taste, plus some rye bread and toffee. Drinkable but sweet.

Tap. Brown with off white head. Malty aroma. Malty taste, caramel, chocolate, bit of banana in the finish. Bit thin

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

Draught. Dark amber with a medium offwhite head. Aromaof caramel and malt. Flavour is quite deep sweet, roasted notes of caramel. Finish is dry and similar to beers with stronger alcohol content

Draught. Low fluffy off-white quickly disappearing head. Clear dark brown body. Sweet roasted malt caramel aroma and flavor. Little hosp bitterness. Low carbonation. Long sweet aftertaste.
