bottle. Clear pale golden yellow, large white head. Sweet and malty nose. Medium-bodied, quite malty with s shy fruity touch (banana) and some aromatic hops in the finish. Quite sweet and malty overall. Much better than expected.

Der Schaum hält gute 5min., Geschmack hopfig, angenehm süß, feinherb und gut ausgewogen, lecker! Es ist Geschmacksintensiv und ist trotzdem so süffig. Der Nachgeschmack ist schön hopfig.
Test vom 6.10.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 prawlie (566) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2012
500 mL bottle brought from Reading Beer Festival into a pint glass at home. Dark golden with a fair bubbly head on it, a hint of fizz. Typical helles aroma, malty but fair. Smooth and palatable, nice. Decent, but to be honest I have difficulty differentiating it from other Munich Oktoberfest beers. Has a touch of sharpness but it very drinkable.
2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2012
December 2006: Marzen? I don’t think so.
Very pale, golden yellow, clean and clear looking, poured from a 50cl brown bottle (6.1%) into glass pint handled pot. Best before 07/07.
The head didn’t last two sips, what was there was white, thin and wispy.
Metalic aroma, slight hop hints, otherwise nowt.
Tastes like a good quality pilsner, not the traditional Marzen Octoberfest beers I loved and remember from my formative years.
Nothing bad about this beer, it just isn’t a true (old style Marzen).

bottled. pale golden, clear with a bubbly head; simple aroma of malted milk and tinned peach; some apple schnapps-like alcohol showing, light bitterness; drinkable enough

Transfering data from personal beer file. I drank this beer a long time ago. I’ll update this rating if I have the chance to drink it again.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

Bottle (500ml from Peckhams, Glasgow):
Awful smelling, definitely one of the worst smelling German beer I have ever know. It is sour with some grassy hops and a smell that reminds me of urine.
Very clear, pale, straw yellow colour with a bubbly white head that is about a thumbs width tall and stays pretty well.
Some light grassy hops and and an sour, citrus like taste. There is a very off-putting skunky bitterness to the beer too, this was is almost undrinkable.
Light bodied and with medium carbonation, the palate is fine but it is a major shame about the taste.
One of the worst beers I have ever tried. At first I thought the beer might be off but there was still a good 8 months left before the best before date; maybe it’s just a shit beer.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Very pale yellow beer with thick foamy head. Bready malts on the aroma and taste. Taste is a bit sweet and also alcoholic because of the thin malty body. Not to be recommended.
