The closest thing I've ever seen to a German version of American Pilsner (if that's possible). Light body, very little malt taste, but a solid hop back end. The head is nice and full with small bubbles--well-structured. The beer is too hoppy and has a BandAid wang to it that i don't like.

Ok It has been years since I had a Lowenbrau from Germany , 13 to be exact, I dont count the Lowenbrau we got here in America for so many years brewed in Canada.
Nice lievlly carbonated, pure golden colour, clear and handsome nice sized foamy white head.
Smell is the average German lager smell..hops very faint like rainwater.
This is actually not a bad lager..clean and crisp..with a nice hoppy aftertatse. Not complex but well done..not too dry.
Average lager feel on the tongue ok but nothing special..
All in all a most drinkable lager beer..went down well with the Pork Chops I cooked for dinner.
Certainlly much better than when it was brewed in Canada.

orangy pilsener, dry as a dead dingoes donga. Grassy grainy, plenty of guts and richness, deep complex aromas. Herbal long lasting bitterness allowing for long intervals between intervals. A beer to be slowly consumed and enjoyed. Apparently "lowenbrau" means Lion beer. In the AFL the lions are king and so is this beer.
To Mr Toohey: this is 'Genuine Pilsener, no competition' well not from tooheys at least.

Standard Helles. Nothing spectacular. The taste is actually pretty bland. Good for thirst-quenching, but that´s about all.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: APR 13, 2004 It looks lovely! A pale gold with a good foamy head that stays some, too, leaving some lacing. The carbonation reminds of the opening screen for Matrix. In the end I gave it a 4 for looks, even if I did consider a full house.
Smell it and the initial enthusiasm dies down. Smells like pilsner mixed with dishwater.
The taste is light and took some time to make sense of. Nicely balanced in a way with some hoppy afternotes.
This isn't anything special, but quite drinkable and much better than some of the better selling brands around here. Also the cheapest bottled beer I can get, actually costing less than some bottled low alcohol offerings! Given that it's the best value beer I know of, but I'll stick with better stuff.
Re-rate: Either I was nuts or this bottle I have now is inferior to my last. Light golden straw body, with only the odd ascending bubble. Some lacing, but head dies off. Maybe it's detergent this time, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
More malts than hops, but both are noticable. Nothing special, makes me think of Tuborg Grön, except the Tuborg is disgusting, while this can't be called that.
In the end, I'll give the appearance the benefit of the doubt this time out, but flavour gets lowered by one.
Not as decent as I remembered, but not bad really. Maybe I'm just not used to the style and thinking too much along pilsner lines. Anyhow, give me a Bitburger any day.

I found this very thirst quenching as I got roped into some gardening this morning and then needed something to drink.Good hop aroma , malt and hops balanced out well in the taste department and a head that lasted the whole way which wasn't very long anyhow!

Tasted in Toronto from LCBO. Light yellow / straw colour. Clear, little or no head. Hazy, slightly sweet aroma with a matly / grainy presence. Flavour has a slight tangy sour feeling with a grany finish. Highly carbonated.

Sparkling clear, straw-colored lager. Small, fizzy, white head. Perfume and black pepper in the aroma with notes of butterscotch.
The flavor is of sweet, canned corn up front. Well-balanced on the backside. Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish.
